What are you doing today?

Just ordered a new pair of slippers.

Ya, $23.74 seems a lot for slippers but cheap is not always less cost. At a local Walmart I could get what are the same item for around $10.00 USD and, years ago, did. They lasted less than a year. The ones I'm paying the higher price are from the same maker but, the pair I currently have, have lasted over 5 years. Paying more is often cheaper in the long run.

Have to be careful with stores such as Walmart as they often buy up and sell what the maker classes as rejects.

Are they true to size? Can you wear them outdoors too. Are they comfortable for long wear. I need new slippers. The ones I have now are worn out. They are from LL Bean but are like $70 now.

Ya, pretty good to size. Yes, they are both indoor and outdoor. As to long wear my current are at least 5 years old... I just hope that the ones I ordered are the same as I have had. They look to be but I can't be sure as I lost the order info from the current pair.

New fluval flex 2.0 has dropped finally. Some good new features on these models. Happy to see they went all out with filtration and finally fixed the lid with hinges! I expect there will be an increased price tag from the original model. Let’s hope retailers respect the RRP..

I attempted a fish order, because a regional online store had Loreto tetras, an old favourite small fish. I wanted to try breeding them. I can fit four species into a reasonably priced (for shipping) box, so I added a Cory and two other Characins.
I just found out the Loretos are sold out.
To cancel or not to cancel, that is the question.

While I went to Ribeirão Preto, we went to Ribeirão Shopping and, then...

Unfortunately, I did not find out who that beautiful model was.

I did another drawing. The question is: it looks like Duda Matte?

Yesterday, I went to a project called "Cidade Verde", because I am curious and I really wished to know more about. We went to a new neighborhood and I supported caring for the trees planted along the streets (urban forestry, I suppose). Try to find out who I am.

I also found out that on October 4th, there will be an event where aquarists will meet in São Paulo city (from 10 h to 17 hrs). I still do not know if I should go, because bus tickets to another city are expensive...

Maybe going to the Cidade Verde project and the event will also bring me more potential clients and networking?

I finished the seduction books, and I confess that they are interesting, although I would write something bigger than that. Maybe one day I will write a review (and the people will think of me as a man desperate for dating a woman). Oh, okay, I recorded myself dancing Daft Punk's "Too Long" with some fun (on Instagram), because my cat has decided to appear in the video. It got some repercussions, more likes and views than the average.

Reading Don Quixote in my continuing efforts to catch up on some of the classics I somehow missed as a kid. One question keeps occurring to me, and I hope this doesn’t offend anyone:

Why did someone publish this drivel, let alone call it one of the great classics? The story is ridiculous without being at all funny, and the writing is atrocious. I am going to finish it just because I feel like I should.

Am I missing something?
I tried to read this book when I was about 11 or 12 years old. I never finished the book because I was not really that interested (particularly, I loved to read books such as "The Travels of Marco Polo", "Odyssey", and "Iliad", as well as other Greek myths). Are you reading in the original language, Spanish?

The Iberian culture has its own particularities. Even between Portuguese and Spanish America, there are several differences. For example, sesmaria, as far as I know, existed only for Portugal and Brazil. It was a concession-like land regime. You had an authorization for owning that land, but you must occupy it, strictly speaking. However, since that time, there have been laws that have not been taken seriously. The interpretation of "occupying" the land was extremely flexible. In the 16th century, places such as Bahia were the richest in the Americas, despite a lack of precious metals for currency due to mercantilism and the fact that gold mines were only discovered centuries later in Minas Gerais.

Going through some old photos again and found a couple that might be of interest...

Way back when I played for a while with black and white shots.

I also played a bit with making abstracts. First is the original photo; second is the abstract. Actually this one is not my image but, rather, one I did for a friend. LOL! Yes, I DO have rights to use. ;)

Currently, while waiting for NFL football to start, I'm arguing with my bird from Hades as to what should be on TV. He wants football and doesn't want to wait until game time. He really DOES like watching football. Of course he does not understand what is going on but he likes the motion on the screen and will watch intently. If football or an action movie he will sit on the floor totally immersed in the TV watching the motion. There have been times when he will just sit on the floor watching the TV for hours at a time. Right now he is he is starring at me wanting something good to watch. He REALLY DOES like TV if there is a good amount of motion.

LOL! I also like the wood box in the upper left. Actually it is a pretty good smilie face. ;)

October 1, and its unseasonably cold out there. It's just winter practicing and will go away for a bit, but the fishroom will be fully winterized today. I hate doing that, and like my fresh air, but the window fans will be stored and the dehumidifier adjusted for steady use. I had a minor flood out there 2 days ago - I entered the room and saw a fountain. I thought a tank had ruptured but it was the hose I use to fill the tanks that had split. It wasn't under pressure it wasn't supposed to be able to handle, but I guess there was a quality issue there. A new potable water hose is already in place.
I made a concession to the coming cold yesterday by planting 2 trays of lettuce out there, under a combination if window and growlight. I'm growing basil and lettuce this winter.
Technically, by the end of the month we could see snow, but it's thankfully doubtful. It's been starting later and later these past few years, and we're still in a drought.
A fishroom can be a money pit, but so can a beer fridge. These little 40 dollar repairs and adjustments add up, as does energy. But I still spend most of my fun money on fish themselves. My not so local fish store has Hyphessobrycon melanostichos and I'm driving to the city it's in next week for family reasons. So there goes the old guy's birthday money.

I built a wall! More specifically: Dry walled the bathroom after school today, with a lot of help from a friend who actually knows what he’s doing.

When I run for president, my motto will be Make Bathrooms Private Again.

Big brown trout lurking in Squaw Creek. Can you see it?

Well, I used to like looking out at nature and sometimes watching the trout, but some guy built a wall.
