Fantastic. What was the water temperature?
I bet the fish liked that arrangement!Way back in the 1980's, when I lived in Ohio, I used to start some seeds that won't be mentioned even though the stature of limitations is well past in my tank. I'd push the seeds through very thin Styrofoam squares and float in the tank. Root development was amazing often ending up with 2 inches of plant above the water and 6-7 inches of roots. Gave a great start before moving to dirt.
I looked it up. Yes. There are several youtube videos on the subject. Interesting. The challenge would be providing enough light for miniature roses to bloom--minimum 6 hours of sunlight or 14 hours of serious indoor plant lights--that would not be an overpowering, algae-producing amount of light for the aquariums. My mini-roses get 6-9 hours of sunlight depending on season. None of my tanks are exposed to that much though several get some afternoon sun.The roses are beautiful. Do you think roses will grow aquaponically on top of a tank?
Sigh, totally a wrong thing to do but, one time, I got talked into attaching a certain smoke source to the intake of my piston driven air pump. The result was quite comical and seemed to cause no harm. Would not do the same now but was young and dumb.I bet the fish liked that arrangement!
Are the boys putting on a show for you--sparring and defending their mini-territories?The only other occupants will be 10 n. beckfordi, if they make it through quarantine. So far the pencils look lively and cool. Pictures tomorrow.
