To Shrimp Or Not To Shrimp

Hello all!

I have been thinking about adding some shrimp to my 4ft community tank and was wondering if its a good idea or not?

The tank has discus, corys, rummys, bleeding hearts, clown loach, spotted cat, plec, angel and african betterfly and is heavily planted with plenty bogwood too.

I'v been thinking about them for a while now as i'v read they help keep your plant clean of alge.

So whats the verdict?

Im no expert but im pretty sure a couple of fish you've got there will gobble them up

The loach had crossed my mind tbh. Im currently trying to convince my wife that they need to be re-homed asap to a bigger tank but she's adament their her fave fish so there staying for the time being.

Thought as the shrimp were armoured they'd maybe make the cut....

Some loaches consider snails as food - not sure if clowns are snail eaters, but gives you an idea of the relevance of shrimp armour.
