Yeah that's what I've read as well. Looks nice too which is pretty important since I have a shelf vs a cabinet. I wouldn't want a Rena under there personally since I'll be seeing it everyday, so eheim and marineland were my best options and this one seems cool.

And sorry again ruskull, was just sooooo very tempting and I found a website selling it for $280 new so figured it must be a good deal.........

It's all good, I had to have something push me one way or the other. Like I said, I'm better off sticking with the Rena filters because of the media, connectors, tubing, etc. being the same for both units. I also don't have to remember how to take 2 different filters apart.

FRom what I've read online the Eheim Pro 2226 is considered a great filter with a good rep. Good luck with it.

I suck at names also. Usually with most of mine I've got names quickly, but I'm finding a lot of them hard! I've got cherry and strawberry, my 2 fm cherry barbs and razz my male cherry, then snowflake my last remaining Molly with speckles and domino passing , and my group of espeis are the orange menaces (just look so menacing cruising the tank in their group of 20 all together )

Still can't think of anything for my male/female pair of bolivians. Then my guppies are too young to name ATM and my betta is azzie, or Azul is his full name

my bolivians or german rams. i dont know what they are to be quite honest. i thought they was german rams but they dont seem to have them colours. i guess il give it a couple more days to see some more colour!

Although my black phantoms all have individual names, they are collectively referred to as the Elucidated Brethren Of The Ebon Night (Terry Pratchett fans will understand!)
I shared a flat with a guy who had two big fish called Delilah and Jezebel and a bunch of zebra danios which he called The Israelites.

Snowflake and Razz are the ones I like best.

I've suggested Jewel back then.

It takes me months to name my fry though (and Sushi was named by someone on this forum in the livebearer section, wish I could figure out who though, it's pretty hard to remember their nick).
Though with Chrome, it was pretty easy. He has a black and white color scheme with a black tiger stripe in the middle, and there was also this background pic in Windows XP, named Chrome.
Pinky - twas the color...
Hoppy got his name due to being adopted by Tzuppy.
Eris really is a goddess of discord.
Bee - from albino.
Cracker - portal 1 ref. "Fish shaped crackers."
Ninja - his looks and barely then his behavior of hiding in the least suspected places.

And Tzuppy got his name because he used to jump a lot, especially at strangers, soaking them wet. LOL.

I happen to like the Rena filters. They aren't as ugly as they are made out to be. THey are just blocks. It's all just functional equiptment to me, as long as it is outside my tank. The hydor external heaters are HUGEEEEEEEEEEE. and BULKYYYYYYY.

I wouldnt trade that heater for anything though. The Renas are working great for me, and to hotline sent me a new part without even asking any questions, other then my address.

The Rena XP filters work great, they're quiet, and the plumbing package gives you many options. Even more important is that they are easy to assemble & disassemble. As far as the looks, mine is under tha cabinet behind a closed door, I'm not too worried about looks even though the look of the unit has grown on me too. The two toned blue, tapered square design is actually neat & clean looking, which is good since my 20 gallon only has a metal stand that's open.

Zod, the betta who is plotting world domination
Bruce, the huge Bolivian Ram who was exposed to the same sort of radiation as The Hulk, it would appear
Mistress Helga - the dominatrix Bolivian Ram who spends all of her time beating up my two males
Melvin, the wimpy Bolivian who won't stick up for himself

I hope she decides to pair with one of them, for everyone's sake!

I suppose I should name my BNs as well since they aren't schoolers....but I'm not 100% sure if they are male or female yet so I'll hold off for now

Actually, I do sometimes call my espei rasboras The Horde or The Mafia and the endlers are just "Idiots"

King Powder's name also fits, aside from the title. Sounds like a huge softie. Just like Tzuppy, huge, looks like something that came out of a horror movie while in the dark, but he will just sit over fry or ram anything that pecks on the little guys. And his mouth doesn't let him eat them anyway, he barely can grab flakes with that cute mouth.

The Opalines look cool and lol @ Hawk, came from mohawk?

Mistress Helga - sounds like what my swordie Bee once was. Now she's changed and Eris is the new dominatrix who beats both Bee and Cracker away. Bee became so humble, she offered to be the tour guide for new girl in town, Arrie. She showed her the bogwood, the java fern, the filter and where to get food. Arrie followed her attentively.
And Melvin is what Cracker ended up as. He gets his sword handed to him by the ladies and cowers in a corner until lunch time or when he sees Bee roaming around the bogwood.
