When they need a clean, you'll see. right AFTER your water change.well im going away for two weeks to house sit for a relative so il still be online. only going back to my tank maybe 3 times in the 2 weeks just to check up and feed the fish. just did a tank deep clean and turned the filter back on and the filter spat out like wet tissue again. i really do need to clean my filter
That's one of the best parts of having a canister instead of a hang on back type. You can just unplug for water changes & then turn it back on without it shooting junk back into the tank.

Mine spit out a bunch of icky diatoms and gunk last night after a 50%, Next week, I'll do a filter clean.

He does swim well and is for sure one that seems to have high chances of survival, the other 18 seem doomed, and the other one just doesn't look like a zombie.But dude! Awesome Ruskull! I knew it was a much better deal. I only had like 5 extra crypts. Did you cut the roots down? It will promote growth. I dunno how she even pulled those plants, they were rooted in like they thought they were staying.
Goodluck with the melt as well. All of the crypts are in major melt right now, I am cutting away dead leaves everyday and doing extra water changes.
