Hey Loverlies!

Another boring day at work, can't wait to get home to my fish! Got some pretty major renovations planned.............

Are you going to tell us what they are?

I was going to get a dwarf gourami for my tank. Now I have seen some pretty lady bettas and think I might want one of those instead. Help me decide!

Man! I haven't kept dwarf gouramis in ages. They are beautiful though. Between the bettas and the gouramis, I'd have to say gourami. Even though I love bettas.

Gouramis are more compatible with other fish and invertabrates, and aren't a high of risky chance than bettas. But then, dwarf gouramis can suffer from Dwarf Gourami Disease, which has no cure

Yeah but there's still the risk of a DG chasing a female and killing her...

No no no, he wants to get either a female betta or dwarf gourami, not both

Plants & more plants thanks to Mikaila31.........plus I have 2 pieces of wood I found in my creek that I've been soaking for literally months. The one is very long and may not even fit in my 36 gallon.

Time to lose the fake root thing in the middle.

Male DG chasing a female DG.
This is why i am not so sure I should get dwarf gouramis in the future, if I want more than 1.

A trio or they should be kept alone, unless the tank is fairly large.

And even as a trio, what if both the male and other female turn against the other female?

*looks at swordies bickering* well, at least these are used to it...

Yeah that's true but the theory is that the male's aggression will be spread out between the 2 females rather than relentlessly chasing one.

Well, knowing my luck, the male will either be chased by the females, or will just do nothing but sit there looking pretty.
