In your own dry sorta way...........you are unique FB.
I'm just below Lady Gaga on the Queen of Weirdness scale.
Hey lovelies!
Still having a hard time deciding on a schooling fish, I'm looking for either microrasboras, trigonostimas, or any small barb or danio that likes blackwater conditions (soft, acidic water, preferably low current) and doesn't eat adult dwarf shrimp. So far I really like the Mosquito Rasbora, Eyespot Rasbora, Harlequin Rasboras, Espei Rasboras, Gold Ring Danio, and I really like Celestial Pearl Danios and Danio erythromicron but their natural habitats are more neutral pH, clear water rather than my tank. Tank's pH is around 7.8-7.5 and I have catappa leaves, so its a tad stained water. Any suggestions?
Celestial Pearl Danios and Danio erythromicron are probably the only shoalers I'd like. (although Cories are shoalers too, but not that kind).

I like the CPDs and Danio erythromicron but from internet research all it tells me is that they loosely hang about and males are nippy and aggressive torwards each other.

I'm looking for a completely peaceful, schooling fish, which is why i'm leaning torwards the Mosquito and Harlequin/Espei Rasboras. Since the tank isn't completely mine, my parents have to agree on fish too. Mom likes the Mosquito Rasboras, while Dad likes the Gold Spot Danios and doesn't care for the Espei/Harlequins

Even if they're a little nippy and do not really school, I'd still get them for my new tank. I don't like the other types of fish or schooling fish in general, and the cories - the only reason I like them is because they look like hoplos.

My Pink Jewel Tetras I have now are "nippy" and most have died of popeye infections due to nips and one has swim bladder disease from a broken swim bladder due to beatings
No more nippy fish for this girl

They can't be any nippier than my swordie females...
That sounds like they're kind of weak fish then.
My swordie females managed to shred each other's fins, then healed within a day, then shred them again... It's like sometimes they're in a truce and other times they're at war...

I'm not gonna lie, i'm a little confused. Lol that post just magically appeared

What has you done to gets this, Hambone?

It's because Hambone is on a restriction for posting whatever the mods didn't like on a family forum.
*bleep*ing censorship, always *bleep*ing the *bleep*ed up stuff that we use to *bleep* the internets with. This is why we can't have nice things.

Lol brilliant
That bad kid at school who wasn't allowed to participate in some things because they couldn't be trusted = hambone

That'd be awesome! Especially if they all jump at strangers like that!

I keep wondering though... can I keep 2 hoplos in this tank? Or is it still too small even for one?
My parents keep asking me why I only buy swordtails every time. LOL.

Hey Loverlies!

Another boring day at work, can't wait to get home to my fish! Got some pretty major renovations planned.............
