Add...this project will be completely in the hands of our members. Design, writing, graphics, etc. Final approval, again, will be based on all the mods and, final rubber stamp by William. Although these posts have been written by me, all mods have been privy to review and comments. When a staff is finalized, we can establish a format and estimated first date of mod review prior to publishing. SH

sounds like a great idea, i especially like the tank profile idea :)

I would think that the following would be a rough schedule of what is next:
1) confirm interest among members
2) develop a final staff list
3) obtain final approval of staff
4) develop a newsletter framework/departments
5) establish guidelines and a deadline
6) release the newsletter to the members for design and writing/editing
7) pre-publication mod review/final edit
8) release.

Im interested in contributing something on a regular basis. Have only been tropical fish keeping for 4 months but Im keen and have read loads + Im a teacher :teacher: and get loads of time off 13 weeks a year actually so have plenty of time to contribute. Ive also got a biology degree for what its worth. (bugger all ) Have been writing a lot for newbies in beginner section so far as I don't really have the experience to write about anything specific yet. Well Ive done my best to sell myself. The final decision is yours.

just one additional thought maybe a member group (like the mods have there own group as does William[though to be fair hes the only person in his group]) with a forum only people involved in the newsletter(and mods obviously) can gain access to this would stop mainstream forums getting clogged with discussions about the newsletter

Think this would be a great idea, as we need to sort a layout/design if this does go ahead, and i'm sure a suprise would be better than public discussion.

I have brought up the issue with William re: having a separate forum for a newsletter. Not sure how that would go. We'll figure that out at some point. I would think that the newsletter would be discussed among the newsletter staff themselves via PMs. The construction/publishing of the newsletter need not be done as a public thread so that the newsletter staff can work quickly and efficiently.

I"m sure that the newsletter would need it's own forum at some point since I'm sure many members would have comments, critiques/criticism and suggestions. Who knows..maybe it will become a magazine for sale someday. SH

I think its a brill idea and I wish I could think of something to contribute but I'm not very good at anything like this. More a follower than a leader. But can't wait for the first installment!!!! :D

Have you thought about trying to get some of the people into the live chat for the time being to discuss the idea futher?

If there are any leftovers i'd contribute to the writing.

well like i said just an additional idea i had

How long is it expected to be before we know whether it will go ahead or not, because although the first edition will take a little longer, i'd say we could have an issue ready for July.

yeah providing we find out pretty soon the first edition will take longer because of the compleate set of new graphics we need to design along with long (and they will be very long discussions on the layout and "thats not up to standard" arguments):good:

I would love to help with the newsletter. I love writing and could contribute to the editing/writing staff. Please consider letting me join the staff. thanks for time.

I will update this list in the mod forum and I guess this is the newsletter staff interest for final consideration. As for the chat room, I leave that to the above members to decide on. SH
