Tetratec Ex1200 Maintenance

i tried pushing the bottom 2 in slowly, but i cant because the bottom one is such a tight fit . i need to be able to get my hands on it and push it right down to the 'stoppers' around the edge.

i dont see how im expecting too much if other people can barely hear theirs, but i can hear mine 10 feet away, and i have to man handle the internals to make them fit.

dont get me wrong, i am pleased i got one, its doing the job and im used to the noise now, but clearly its not running as well as other peoples, and this bothers me.

I wasnt really factoring in the noise, but you should be able to fanny around with the trays to get them to fit with some DIY mad skills.

Just thought there are 2 versions of the ex1200 V1 and V2. Where the black connector plugs into the head unit is there 1 flap/lever to pull down or is there a lever and a black key like lever as well?

Ring them, don't email them. You get a quicker service.

Tell them its noisy and they will probably send you a whole new filter head. Tell them the bottom tray is out of shape and they will probably send you a new tray aswell.

They won't ask you any questions.

nice, I'm bidding on a used Ex1200 on ebay right now i can't quite see if its a V1 or V2 was the V1 allot worse than V2? any real differences or just the leave and key? also i can't find any pics of what the V1 looks like so if you can spare some time look at this bid and if anyone not just yourself can tell me if it looks like a V1 or V2 il still gone get it but just for info and to look or expect problems

kl cheers ye i got a new v2 at home but i thought il get it used of ebay and i can get this dirt cheep haha i was going to replace seal media and all that anyway but kl if thats it then i can servive i guess cheers

mine is different i think, i will investigate. would the lid from that one fit mine ? would depend on the tap block fitment i guess ?

Mines the older v1 and from my experience it doesn't leak if the lids on properly and I cant hear mine with the door shut and only slightly with it open I usually resort to feeling it for vibration to make sure its working lol

Easiest way to tell is by the logo on the bottom of the filter. Old ones say tetratec, new ones say tetra. The lever is also different like bba has shown. The new replaced adaptor has grooves in like the picture shows, so yours won't leak. They have a double seal.

yep mine is a V1 i just bought so i have a V2 and a V1 lol, its so manly and dirty so I'm gone order a new motor seal only like 2.50 and i need to get a new intake set, dose anyone know of a cheap intake set that works or will i haft to get the tetra ted one?

another question, how do people clean your pipes if you ever do?

and is washing up liquid safe to clean my filter before i install it? for example I'm going to wash it tonight but going to install it either this weekend or in 2 weeks time

I would just soak the pipes in vinegar and bi- carbonated soda rinse off well.
