Washing filter media in tap-water?

This is why I run 2 filters on most tanks I rinse & squeeze the heck out sponges in running tap. I have chloramines in my tap here so I add Prime to the filter box refill water to restart. No problem, ever.

I would not & don't suggest this to new people just setting up a tank. Chances are their tank may not be truly cycled but "gunk" slows the filter flow. This is when I suggest using tank water & squeezing the heck out of sponges.

My way is not the only way
