I noticed just the other day some of the stone on bottom of the tank are discolored. Does anyone know what it could be?

can you tell us how long the tank has been running and cycled?

Just looks like regular old algae to me. Give the gravel a good going over next time you clean your tank and it should look a lot better :good:

could be any number of things.

or it could just be bio film.
hence the question on tank age.

I agree with this, when I used to use gravel it used to look like this after a while (which was algae) so I had to clean it often. I use sand in all my tanks now. Much better all round :)

I need to clean tank out soon. And will make sure all else gets a once over

I'm seeing a lot of people using a mixture of water and bleach to soak their ornaments. I feel a bit wary of using this. Can someone tell me if there is another solution other than bleach to use?

Clean the tank the other day. And took the decorations and gave a good scrub. Give windows also a good scrub. I didn't know that so many things just get glued on. That's a shame. Anyways I had to throw out my kissing fishes ornament algae came off pretty easy but when I was wiping paint came off too. That I didn't like so threw out. Gave the stone a good once over but some just couldn't get. So got rid of that too.

Now that is all done I know what to look for and will have my eye on it.
