Aquabid issue?

I notice that Aquabid, a useful international auction site for uncommon fish has been down since May 1. Does anyone here know what's up?

It's almost killie egg season here as it warms up!

Don't know if i this is true but i read elsewhere that the owner of aquabid is updating the site - no eta.

The owner announced that he is upgrading the software that handles the auctions and to be patient. I had 2 auctions running before the site went down, so I hope it returns sooner rather than later.

Okay, that's good. From a killiekeeper's perspective, that one individual has replaced many of the clubs for the distribution of eggs. I can still get some new things via the French club Aquabid offers an international range of sellers and I appreciate it, although the price inflation is getting a little out of hand.

Its updated. Maybe its not going back. Seems all accounts were wiped too.

I sincerely hope not. I have feedback going back to 2010.

Saw this on facebook from Mark:
Please note that recent change to AquaBid was a result of an error on Friday during a server upgrade.
After the error, I had to pivot and install new auction software. As a result, everyone has to re-register.
This was not what I wanted. I had considered shutting it all down as the costs were getting close to money made.
I hope that everyone will come back but time will tell.

Well this is unfortunate. I'm sure there will be some fine-tuning but my first impression is not positive. And we lose all of our history with the site. Oh well.

A couple of UK sites I use for equipment and plants changed things around, including an upgrade in servers. Lost both accounts and all transaction history, and had to start over. Annoying, but the sites are much better now, including the payment system. Hopefully, this Aquabid will follow the same path.

Interesting. The site applies US laws to Canada, which means I can't buy killie eggs on it. It's legal for me but illegal for Americans to buy without permits and inspections. We haven't even been invaded yet and we have the wrong laws!

I hope it's a bug. There's a lot to sort out in a site like that. I also hope sellers keep the same names. It doesn't matter much for buyers.

Sometimes, there would be 3 to 5 pages of small typeface listings for killie eggs. That's going to be tedious to scroll through in the current format.
