Tanks is approx 50 gallon...
48 x 15 x 16

Looking for good range in terms of tank coverage, colours and activity.

Two 100 gal/hour filters, two heaters (one of each either end)

Started with the 6 danios, planning, (all water conditions being well to introduce the following, probably each type of fish per month)

6 x Longfin Zebra Danio (Danio rerio)
8 x Marble Molly (Poecilia sphenops) (probably 4 dalmations, and 4 lyre tail silver)
4 x Albino Cory (Corydoras aeneus)
5 x Glass Catfish (Kryptopterus minor)
2 x Bristlenose Pleco (Ancistrus sp.)
4 x Sunset Platy (Xiphophorus variatus)
4 x Red Phantom Tetra (Hyphessobrycon sweglesi)

Thanks!

Matt and Belinda

Can I ask water your water readings are? You know, Ph and such...

Good choice and all compatible, but (if activity is the criteria) I will reduce the Mollies to 1 male 3 females - silver lyretails) and put about 8 cardinals in there as well... (for colour as well)

yeah was planning on doing that ditribution with the mollys...

new tank is here... VIDEO

water readings are as tap water at the moment due to fresh tank, however the 20 gal was running:

0 Ammonia
25 nitrate
1 nitrite
between 7 and 14 GH~DT~TH
between 3 AND 6 KH~TAC~CARB HARDNESS
PH 7,2

just as a thought... The betta/fighters... Always seen as individuals in lfs's... Could i keep one in with the stocking as above? They look stunning and so interesting!

Your water changes need to be keeping that nitrite=1.0ppm down to nitrite=0.25ppm in order to keep from killing off the danios during the cycle. You have to be a bit experimental to figure out what percentage and frequency of water changes will do this for you. In a new cycling tank, always use conditioner to remove chlorine/chloramines (to help the bacteria survive) and rough temperature matching (to help keep the cycle moving along without a slowdown while the bacteria wait for the temperature to come back up before dividing.)

will have to get a better test kit... my nitrite readings are in deoninatioms of 0,1,5,10,50...

Thanks for the heads up though

the betta is an after thought to be honest... Wanted to have some nice small shoals, some colour and some interesting fish...
Rcomendations for a few corys?

what cories would you suggest? Id rather more smaller ones... but aqadvisor reckons im at 100% there...

Panda and Pygmy cories are some of the smaller cories. Try looking into those...

You have some fish with drastically different Ph preferences. I've heard that mollies tend to get ill if they aren't kept in hard, alkaline water, and some of your other choices (corys, glass catfish) prefer soft, acidic water.

the mollys are fish we both really liked but if having them s restricting others, we can be swayed. Im going off the glass cats... Take up lats of space and the novelty will wear off.... Back to the drawing board.
