Stocking For 10Gal?

1cm should fine for pygmy corys, its not so much the size of the gravel that causes issues with corys, it's the sharpness of the gravel. Take some of your gravel, put it in your hand and kinda rub it around, as long as it's relatively smooth and you don't feel a bunch as sharp edges it will be fine.

Have you considered a group of Thai microcrabs, with a shoal of boraras micros, also Thai?

yea i'll definitely check my gravel because that would be really the only thing i would worry about with them.

No i have not, didn't even know there was fresh water crabs! Are they very sensitive to water changes like shrimp?  I do like the idea of getting some of the micro boraras with either the crabs or corys but i might have to see if that's pushing it with population

red clawed thai crabs are brackish water not fresh water , all crabs need access to the land too. and in fresh water they tend to die in few months. also microcrabs are expensive but they might be able to survive in fresh water.

Crabs are sensitive to water quality changes like ammonia and nitrates . also if you have live plants crabs can cut live plants into the pieces with their claws. :)

Thai microcrabs are fully aquatic and fully freshwater, they have nothing to do with red clawed crabs.

They are pretty much like algae shrimps in all respects, except they are crabs.

Yea i am getting 6 pygmy cories just because that was the easiest out of the choices for me to get from my lfs and not to mention they are much cheaper.  But thanks for all of the responses you guys helped me out a lot in my choice! i'll probably still be siting here fighting with myself on what to get
