Do you know what happens when your heater breaks on your (empty) fry tank, and you are waiting for a new one in the mail?

You get babies.

Makeshift incubator made, heat lamp below the box warming the water inside. Once my heater arrives in the mail, they will be moved to a bigger grow out.

My fish decided to breed in the community tank without me even trying to get anyone to breed.

Eggs, Day 1.

And some videos

On lockdown? No heater? Fine, here's 200 babies for you!! XD

Temperature is staying nice and stable at 78F, 3x daily feedings of infusoria started on day 3, and very gentle water changes every other day. No losses at all so far, everything's going good despite the unconventional setup.

Bonus... the parents who decided they wanted to breed in the community tank:

That's true, you cant really sell them lol

Wow!!! Congrats on your fry! It is so unfortunate that after your heater broke, your dwarf gouramies bred and had 200 babies. Oh well, just gotta be patient and wait for the heater to be delivered.

Day 6! All doing good. Water a bit stirred up from today's water change. Look at the itty bitty fins! And tiny little mouth i can see now too! Only a couple more days of infusoria feedings and then i can start weaning onto the next food size up.
