Bear in mind buying endler fry means you can't guarantee the sex and they will breed if you have a mixture. Depending on the type of endler, not all of them are able to eat their own fry (they are very small fish) and it won't be great for your betta to be eating them all, so you'll have to remove some. Some will inevitably survive and you may end up with more than you want. Also the females are quite drab.

You might be better off just buying 5 or 6 males.

Also, watch the betta with the shrimp. Depends how big they are really. My betta pecks at adult cherry shrimp but they can evade him, but he will happily persue and munch smaller ones. Then again he may ignore them. Can't always predict these things.

Good advice. I have Cherry Shrimp in with my Betta, he does go looking at them. But so far hasn't touched any of them. Eating them or not would be dependant on the Betta's personality.

Bettas can be very aggressive... So that is why I chose Betta...

More likely if they have long flowing fins like the betta. You can only try it and see.

Me too, and it ended in tears all round.

Truth is you don't know how your betta will react to the endlers. Most likely it'll be fine, but have a backup plan in place if it goes wrong. I would suggest removing the betta from the tank before you add the endlers and let them settle for a little while before you add the betta back to the tank.

I did but I already have 3 others that are in there own tank so if that one gos wrong I will try the other ones out

Yeah I'd say you have pretty good odds there.
