him and Bo have had there funny 5 mins, was a bit of splashing, but all calm now, just about to put the shrimp in

Long pointed anal fin passing the tail fin, females are rounder and shorter. He also have quite alot of facial markings, which some females can lack.

Pffftt they didnt catch one of them, this time next week ill have 1000 shrimp in there

Bo had him pinned in the corner and has given him a mark on his side
ive moved him into the community tank, hes swimming about and exploring, no one is bothering him, ill have a look for a suitable tank for him, failing that he`ll have to go to a new home bit miffed with myself actually, took a chance with Bo and failed,nobbles is a beautiful fish too.

was a bit worried about what i was going to find this morning when i put the lights on, he had a really stressful day yesterday, travelling for an hour and a half, then escaping the bag when he was acclimatising, then Bo!
but he seems fine, hes been eating ( off the floor) he tends to stay close to the filter when hes not swimming,nose slightly pointing down..does this mean hes very unhappy?
there are no plants in the tank that hes in, should i add some fake ones to maybe add some security for him? but like i said no one is bothering him at all,im looking everywhere for a tank so this is strictly a temp measure till i can sort something, but i dont want him unhappy so if i am advised to rehome him then of course i will,
Bo spent ages looking for him last night.. serves him right!

Sorry to hear it didnt work, might do when he's grown a little. Some cover might make him feel happier, but if no one is bothering him he will settle down fairly quickly. They have a habit of feeding off the floor, they are too lazy to go to the surface You have plenty of time for another tank for him if you want to, you could just replace the community tank he's in now with a 75g, save actually having him in a tank on his own, beacuse he's fine with those fish, just will need a little more room when he's grown, they can reach 10-12", although Ive never seen one past 10" and they are quite a chunky fish, so take up a lot of room.

i definatley want to keep him, hes gorgeous..right let the hunt for a new tank begin ( well actually began about 10 last night, no luck as yet) ill get those plants in today too ( kids are "camping" on the lounge floor so cant get near till they shift)

What you need is another rio 300, like Bo's or possibly you could get away with a 240, but the 300 would be better and he can live his life with the angels and stuff with no problems. Good luck, let me know how you get on

yeah i reckon your right Mags, swap everything over to a 300.. just need to find one something will turn up im sure
