I went to pick up my new aquarium yesterday, having bought the substrate and such on Friday.
Well, we got the tank home - cleaned it up and got ready to put the sand in. My friend grabbed a bag, went to pour it in... and looked extremely bemused when I took it from him and skipped upstairs with a bucket. He asked what the heck I was doing as we went in the bathroom and I told him I had to wash the sand. He looked at me blankly with an "o..k..." sort of expression and I got to work.
I leant next to the bath, filled the bucket with a little sand and water and announced, "This is why we wash sand...". I think he got my point.
This video was actually on the 6th or 7th rinse as he kept going "OMG! It's so filthy!! D:" and other such phrases, some of which aren't forum friendly so I got a recording a little later on ^^
