I am waiting for my new tank to be delivered :hyper: i'm so excited. I want sand (black in particular) I have lots of plants already and a centrepiece bogwood. I have been looking for some more wood for the new tank and came across the 2 woods in the title. I love them both and love how eerie they look.

I love this piece of redmoor

this piece of sumatra

and this one too

I just can't decide, will you please give me your opinions which one I should pick! Or maybe another website I can look at that has them and also black sand too.
Thanks :)

Redmoor is the much nicer of the two and usually sits much nicer in the aquarium IMO although this is usually reflected in the price you pay

Aqua Essentials have a great selection of sand and driftwood, although if you can't find anything that takes your fancy I have just placed an order for a load of Red Moor (and a few 10kg bags of Limpopo Black Sand) that will be going on sale via eBay by the middle of next week,

I do like them both-it's so difficult!
oh that would be awesome, i'm finding it difficult to find black sand. My new tank was dispatched on the 30th but that was a friday so realistically it will have been sent yesterday. Should be here by friday.
I'll need to keep an eye out on ebay then.

Redmoor defo, looks more natural, weird as all wood is natural but it just looks it lol. :)

Having used both, Redmoor wins for me...unless you're doing some kind of Sumatran biotope.

What's in your 80cm ian? Just curious as I like the twisted effect.

thats Manzanita wood. It's also availble from AE. It is by far the best aquascaping wood i have used.

Hmmmm thinking of changing the wood in Cuban Delight. :good:

And I want first dibs on that stuff you have in the 80cm tank hehe......

Of the wood you have linked to, the redmoor is without doubt the best piece. I have seen that bit myself but thought that it was a bit pricey by the time postage would be added.

I saw the manzanita wood on the same website but I can't stretch to that much money for wood.
I love the "haunting" effect Yes some might say i'm weird  lol but that's the effect I want to go for.

Ianho - your aquascape is just beautiful so eerie which I love. It's incredible.
ps3steveo - I love your tank cuban delight is also stunning.
I think I am leaning towards the redmoor now. The shape and "weirdness" is what i'm after.

so now which piece?
This one I loved but out of stock :(

This is strangely graceful looking

This piece is very intricate but my gouramis might get stuck in between it

Oh so many decisions
Also, my bogwood was a pain to hold down, it kept falling over or floating up - is the redmoor heavier or will it be the same?
Thanks

Most wood if not soaked will float to start with, get it home, throw it in the bath, fill with hot water and weight it down, worked after 2 hours with my redmoor. Also with the order if you need any other bits get them from AE too and if you get over £50 it's free delivery. :)

Ah, I only soaked the bogwood for a few hours I was so eager to get it in the tank and the transformation was amazing! I'm back with the sumatra now after looking at them again (I know i'm so indecisive)my other half says i'm going to make the new tank look like transylvania
I think am going to go for this piece
http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/sumatra-driftwood-nano-a8-p-5224.html
The tank i'm getting is 60 litres (actually 64 or so) so I want it to fit with the bogwood. It looks like a creepy hand which I love.

I ordered 75 plants online which I will need to bunch together and arrange. I have a few plants in this current tank but I was after some anubias it seems to be more pricey than the rest of the plants.
Can you recommend me some plants please to go with it? I don't know the names but I like the little tiny bunches people have scattered about it looks like grass-is it grass? I am hoping to get shrimp in the tank will they be ok with my gourami? They are a hybrid of dwarf gourami apparently, but in the shop they are sold as honey gourami and grow to about 3 inches. They are an inch at the moment.
Forgot to add I like these too

AE is a very bad site lol.
Thanks.

I like this bit...

http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/redmoor-wood-aa24-p-5964.html

there a lot of aquascaping potential with this...

and tanks for the compliment Ny.

this rock would also be beneficial with redmoor.

Your welcome :)
I really like that bit of wood but I happened to notice the size. It might be a bit big and I wouldn't be able to have my bogwood in with it. Do plecos like redmoor too?
I like that rock. You could just go mad on that site
