My show tank has a PH of 6.0, GH 3 and KH less than 1. I believe this is created with my substrate which is special plant substrate, so lowers the PH (ADA stuff) and my CO2.
My water in that tank gets a 50% change once a week. It was good enough to get a pair spawning. So i moved them into my breeding.
But when doing my water changes in the breeding tank, the PH has gone high as there is nothing to lower the PH in there. This is not good for my discus, so it needs changed pronto, and also not going to have luck breeding!
So, I dont want to get into RO. But, is there another way to get my water to equal my tank? What i was thinking is that i can take 20L out my show tank daily and add it to the small tank. That way i wil l be adding the desired parameters. BUT, will it say at that, or with lack of CO2, will it rise?
The water in my show tank is really good, so i dont see a problem putting 'dirty' water into my breeding tank? I am doing daily water changes in my breeding tank anyway.
