over the years me and mrs biffster
have calculated that we have only
lost about 35 fish that's not including
fry but the funny thing is i seemed to
have lost a five cold water fish in the
last five years are they not as hardy as they
used to be i remember when guppies were the ultimate
starter fish now they seem to be a really femur fish
now. also they have got smaller over the years is all this
captive breeding of tropical fish making them prone to
disease and stunting them

with guppies in particular it's likely to be the inbreeding they endure so that breeders can produce the brightest and most sellable colours. Restricting the gene pool this way will never produce the strongest/healthiest fish.

i agree i remember when guppies
used to be about 2 to 2 half inches
they were a great fish for the beginner
i actually now think angle fish are easier
to keep than guppies now. mind i did hear
somewhere that guppies are nearly extinct
in the wild i don't know how true that is
