Thought I`d share a video that I took this afternoon of the Badis. The 2 females are pretty active and quite inquisitive, the male is a bit more reserved and likes to hide within the Java moss in the tank but he`s coloured up nicely in the last day and you can see him better when the video gets to 2mins 40 and again at about 5 mins.

Wow, they look great in that nicely 3-D aquascaped tank, elisew!
I really wish I could get some, but then as much as my Filament Glassfish would be peaceful enough tankmates, they need 23C (which is a little too warm for the Badis). Not to mention my better half is really stressing about how much I'm spending one fish and that I now have four glass tanks (plus what willl be a 100l plastic QT/fry tank) after just six months in the hobby!

I`m so glad I got them, they`re really cute little fish
I`ve ended up with 4 tanks in the living room, it`s just as well hubby`s ok about it really although as he`s away for a couple of weeks he doesn`t know yet that I`ve bought the Badis
If it was up to me I`d set up a whole bunch of tanks in a nice big shed in the garden.......one day

Cheers for the advice wills.
Went to madenheads today (in Market bosworth) and bought 10 micro rasboras slightly smaller then chillies but fearly clear in colour (can't rember the name) a few shrimps and a couple nice looking bits of unusual shaped bits of wood got a fairly decent tennis ball sized bit of moss thown in for free as well.
Going to email that chap on Monday and try to order a few badis from him, I recon 4f 1m. Pics to follow of the new tank lay out and fish shortly.

These guys have a wider range of temp requirements compared to the Black Tigers, making them a little easier to create a peaceful community tank for if you wished...

oi i never even thought about that. Would be so cool if you could. Would a male from each species get on if they had their own group of females to keep them entertained. would be such a cool looking tank.

I dont think the males would get on well at all and im not sure but there could be the risk of cross breeding.
