Omg Poor Cory!

Today i switched off the light as i usually do for a couple of hours in the day. When i turned the light back on i found one of the corys trying desperately to get itself out of one of those terracotta rings that plants have around them!! I'd put them in there just for interest for the fish - this fish obviously got a little too interested
I tried very gently to push it through to no avail. Wasnt coming out the other way either. So my other half got out the pliers and cracked the ring. Luckily it split easily.

Poor cory has a very sore looking area on its belly where it was struggling for i dont know how long. Could have been 5 mins, or 2 hrs! Gonna have to keep a close eye on little fishy, thats for sure!

Goes without saying that the 3 terracotta rings i had in there are in the bin

awww poor cory,i hope it'll be ok...

I use them rings for decor & hidey holes in the fry tank,but i'm always wary of putting them in with larger fish in case they get stuck.

yeah should ave put them in with the fry really, but hey, theyre in the depths of smelly nappies now lol

i have come to the belief that corys are not the most intelligent fish about only on the basis that i had 1 specific julii who continued to get himself stuck in the same place, time after time...............never learned
