First off i should say i made a flippin huge mistake buying this fish, not that there is anything wrong with the actual fish but it was labled up as a "albino Gymnothorax tile" which would have been rarer than rocking horse manure and i didnt realise that it wasnt actually a moray at all until i got it home and into the photograph tank, which goes to show that even experienced hobbiests can get tricked sometimes if they dont look properly.
However it is still a lovely fish and although not super rare still a fairly uncommon species and colour morph, and i paid a fair price for what it is.

So without further ado i bring you Wilfred the leutistic Asian Swamp Eel (Monopterus albus)

please note that the bare tank is a temporary holding tank used just for photography and viewing and the fish was only in there for around half an hour.

I'm sure they didnt do it on purpose, to be fair they do look very alike and the only real visable difference is that the swamp eel doesnt have any gill slits in the two inflatable pouches either side of the throat and the end of the tail is different, they probably recieved the fish as a contaminant in a shipment and didnt know any better.

ok. either way its still a beautiful fish. :D

Where di you pick that up from?

Local shop, i dont usually buy fish from them and we only go there because the mrs buys her crickets from the reptile shop in the same court yard, was the only one they had.

There are about 5 of them in my LFS for about £10, Labeled as "Tulip Eels". That morph as well. Remember when i was asking you about it CFC?

But my african clawed frog ended up eating it. :shout:

I thought you said you'd never have another swamp eel?
