WOW!! So about 80 fish then! That alot of fish lol and very impressive!!
Always somethin goin on in your tank then lol Do u have any youtube vids??
And how long have u been keeping fish?

No Youtube I'm afraid, I had my phone stolen over Xmas and the new one is only 2mp camera and is rubbish! Youtube never occured to me TBH. Don't think peope would want to look at my tank! :)

I have had fish since July last year so 6 months ish, I'm not one of the most experienced, but I have spent hours online looking up fish and listening to the advice given to me, this site is a godsend!! everyone is so helpful!! I try to pass on the info I have been given as I have made some of the mistakes others have! I started off with a 15litre tank, then 3 weeks later went to a 95 litre as the other was way too small! Then a month later came the 4ft and last week the 5ft!!!! I love my fish :)

You would b suprised at how many people post there aquariums on youtube. Iv been watchin them to give me setup and layout ideas!
Yea this forum is a godsend. Without the helpful advice from everyone i would of given up a long time ago.
Keith on here has been brilliant been with me every step of the way! So glad i joined.
I started with a 60L tank, which believe it or not use to b the home for my Goliath bird eating Tarantula!
Sadly the spider died of old age. I still have a Mexican Fireleg and a Chillian Rose. Love my Spiders too!!
Yea anyway starting the 60L has been such an uphill struggle for me.
I didnt kno anythin about cycling to begin with and couldnt work out why my fish where dieing and getting deseased.
Iv made so many mistakes but hey they where all learning curves.

Iv spent literally hours opon hours online researching what i did wrong and finally discovered fishless cycling along with this forum.
Its my pet shops fault!! They told me to by 5 fish and test the water a week later and it if was ok then i could buy another 5 fish so on and so forth!
Anyway im cycled now and have the knowledge, im jus sooo keen to get my new tank and do it RIGHT this time!

I have just filled out my about me page, and just explained how my first tank went. In my 15 litre I was sold 6 baby goldfish and 2 Leopards danio's, both way to smal for the tank. Needless to say the goldfish all died but the Danio's I still have 1 of. I'm annoyed at the bad advice I received being told 3 days set up enough (by P@H). The tank design was also poor and didn't help the flow around the tank.

I definately think fish are a better replacement for spiders :) Although I have been checking out the Chillian rose's at my LFS that has reptiles also. They are getting less scary!
I think getting it right, even if it is a long process, is always worth it. I was desperate to get my fish and the tank up and running but I wish I had the patience and knowedge back then that I have now.
I partly would love to start all over again and get it right from the start, expecially with my fish selection. I just bought any fish I liked the look of and now have such a mis-matched community!

Thats exactly what im researching into now.
What fish to get and what goes best with what.
I know i definately want Gourami's, about 8 to b exact. 4 of one species and 4 of another.
I also want 3-4 Angel fish.
1 Plec
and 6-8 Corys
The rest will come in time! I wanna take alot of time adding the rest of my fish, only 1 or 2 a forknight.
Just wish my bloody new tank wud hurry up so i can get started lol:)

i also love looking at larger aquariums on youtube :D so post up a vid when everything is running smoothly :)
Yes i definately will that you can count on;)

Do u always quarentine new fish? Is that jus to make sure they aint carrying deseases?

Most people do to ensure they dont bring disease to the tank.i only am as i have bought these fish from somewhere i dont normaly use.

Corys are the way to go... :good:  although i'm bias :p ,corys normally max out at 3 inches each depending on what species you get, whereas plecs like you say can massive, especially the commons which would outgrow you tank in the future. So make sure you research before you buy :good:

Depending on your stocking and decor you could get quite a few corys in your new tank,i have a 55 gal and have overload of around 60 cories in all pygmys, tris, pandas, skunks, blacks, golds, albino & 2 juvi bronze- the biggest are 2.5inches. ,it sounds a lot but looking at them, they've plenty of room around the tank has they tend to stay in their own little groups, feeding time is a very busy time though!!

I would love to see ur tank harlequins. I love corys,my fav fish def! Saw some of the larger ones at a shop yesterday and they were pretty chunky! Waiting to find the black and gold laser near me.

Ahhhhhhh!!!!!

Well my 260ltr tank has been dispatched and should have it by tomorrow!
Down side is the company who are supplying my 3D background have just wrote me an email sayin they are out of stock and cant send me my background now for another 2 weeks!
This means my new aquarium will have to sit empty for 2 weeks which im not happy about to say the least!

Here's my idea...

Im going to hook up the new Fluval 305 filter that my new aquarium comes with to my already exsisting 60L tank (Transfer media)
and cycle it in my old tank.
Hopefully by the time the background turns up the filter should be cycled and ready to be transfered to the new 260ltr.

This should work right?
