I have just self-published a 528 page book on ornamental fish farming. The book has heaps of information of value to serious breeders even if they are not commercial. I would like to get permission from admin to mention this when I respond to appropriate posts, where this may be useful. (I have read that normal advertising is not permitted without permission.) How do I contact admin to ask them? (I have to admit that, as an "oldie" I am totally unfamiliar with the use of forums - it will be interesting to see where this surfaces! Thanks anyway.

Don't hold me to it, but as long as you're not posting like:
"CHECK OUT MY NEW BOOK: ___________
FOR $_.__
AT ALL STORES"
you'll be fine. putting it in your sig or referencing to it isn't against the rules..

Again, I'm not positive, so you should get a mod/admin to okay it, but that's my take on it.

Thanks for your help, Tolan. I have now found out how to contact William (Admin) to get the details. By the way, I like your logo, a Coelacanth no? I used to have a bit to do with the JLB Smith Institute in South Africa, where the fish was first identified. Amazing fish with a fascinating story. Good looking too!!! I supplied Prof Margaret M Smith (Prof JLB's wife) with deep sea marine specimens for a while while she was still alive.
Cheers, Brian.
