New babies, lots of questions!

can fry grown alittle i 4 days? My fry, I swear, are just alittle bigger than they were... It could just be that I've had practice hunting for 'em, and I find 'em easier to see...

Yup...fry can grow everyday! Especially if they are fed a variety of good foods, and high protein ones. :)

I've noticed the same thing with my Platy fry...they just look a liiiiiittle bigger everyday.

Fry update.

- Okay everyone. Im very excited to say that my fry will be one week old tonight at 1.00 - 1.30 AM, and they are both still trucking full steam ahead! I musta done something right :)

At what age (approx.) can the fry eat fbs? No stores around carry baby brine shrimp, so I just have to give the flakes, but I want to start them on those asap.

Adult brine shrimp carry very little nutritional value, and aren't recommended as a staple of a diet...just as a treat.

Your Guppy fry should be able to eat frozen Daphnia, and you should be able to find it more readily. Add that to their diet, but don't use it exclusively, and that should help them a lot.

You may also be able to find some Hikari First Bites. They're a very, very tiny pelleted food that I've raised some Guppy fry on before.

Okay.

Just to talk, I went to an LFS yesterday and I asked him for some. You wont believe what he said... "You dont need them, all they are is crushed adult food!" That's the 3rd time that store run me outta there b/c they didn't want to go look for what I asked for! I am soooo pissed with them right now! Honestly, I have no idea how they stay open...

well, the ONLY reason I went in there is b/c I felt really bad, and It was on the way home from work. BTW, my boss made me go to work for 2 days sick b/c I couldn't find anyone to take my place. Isn't that bad? I went to the doctor and he said that it's the begining stages of strep throat (sp?) :/

If it's strep throat, you shouldn't be going to work. You're contagious. Everyone will be down with it in a matter of days. Trust me. I'm Pre-Med...I know these things. Besides, I've had strep 9 times in the course of my life. I even went to school with it once...got multiple people sick.

Next time they try to run you out of there, stand up for yourself. Tell them that maybe you don't need them, but you WANT some, and you'd like to purchase some. Don't let them run you out of there if you want to buy something. They don't have a single right to do that.

I no, I no. But when I go in there I feel so uncomfortable b/c those people are "rough" looking, and I'm glad to get outta there, but I was pleased with em for a while and every store in town will send you to that one if they dont have what you want. They must be good, when they do actually do something...

Their prices are lower than most too, so that's a + .

he said he was out, or either he lost it, but i dont need them anyway. How can you lose something you should be selling? I just dont buy it...

One of their idiot employees tried to sell me a 20g tall divider for my 10 g tank. He said it would fit... I chose to wait for the real thing to come in...

Any way...

I talked to my doc and he said the same thing you said, dont go to work etc, but my boss is an asshole. I called them like an hbour before they opened to call in sick, and he never returned my call until it was time to go in. Then he got all smart with me and started yellin' so I yelled back... Not smart on my part. He was so mad at me he made me be floor gaurd (i work at a skating rink) SICK!!! But i let him no i didn't feel good, and he STILL made me come in. Well now doc says no to workin', so I hope he'll allow me the time off without having to worry about finding a replacement...

Back to the fish tho before this topic get erased

Fry still good, and no more from mom... I dont think she's gonna have any more for a while...

That's all right if she doesn't have any more from this batch. She'll have plenty in the future, until you see fry and groan. I've gotten to that stage myself.

Just thought I'd give everyone an update on the fry :) . Great news! Both little boogers are doin great! I think they eat too much b/c their bellies are a little chubby... They are now two weeks old and doin' GREAT!

Thanks everyone for the help in the past and in advance for help in the future :) .
