New babies, lots of questions!

It's perfectly fine to keep them in tanks with no decor. They may appreciate a plant or two, but it's more for aesthetics than anything else. And it is so much easier to clean with not a single thing in it.

They are a bit more difficult to keep than their parents, but they're not all that difficult. Clean water and good food are the keys to healthy babies.

my fry are a pale pale pale yellow on the side, and from top, they look sort of grey. They were born in a tank with brown, white, yellow, black rocky type gravel. I'm hoping that there were only 2 b/c I didn't find any bodies, nor did I see anymore. But then again, they were super hard to see and take out in there :)

The female didn't birth any more, then? I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if she did within the next few days.

I left her in the breeder all night long and nothing. She still has a gravid and it's PITCH PITCH BLACK again. She is quite testy, and keeps trying to hide. I'm monitoring the tank quite well for any new arrivals. I expect them soon too! Someone suggested that her dark spots are eggs for next birthing? but the graivd isn't as big as it used to be and she moody. She also poos a lot and VERY standoffish. Those are the signs, and dog if she don't have 'em all!

Waiting very anxiously for the next 2 :)

Nah, they aren't eggs for the next birthing. They're babies from this one that she has yet to birth.

When she's all done, she'll look VERY skinny, like an anorexic little Guppy. Feed her as many high protein foods as you can when she'll take them. She needs the extra nutrition and energy right now very badly.

well, she looks skiny now, but gravid is the same color and size ???? . I placed her back in the breeder before I went to work (about 4 hrs ago) and it has 8 plants in it. No baby to be found, unless its hidden VERY well.

Also, she has gotten SO moody, she ate a part of the male's tail!!!!! She took a little hunk out of it. He musta really ticked her off!

Will she get square and turn pitch black, and really bloated all over again as a sign shes ready for more, or will she just have them?

Fry update:

Doin' great, eatin' good!

If there's more to be had, she'll just have them. She won't get all big and square again with THIS batch, because there won't be enough fry in her to create that effect.

OK. Well, I jsut slightly moved around each plant, no baby, no carcass, nothing. Well tons of poo, but that's it. She just ate a few FBS, so she should be full of evergy.

Mlee sounds like you wanna be a daddy really bad! :p ... its easyer to take care of animal babies than human babies animals grow up faster :p

I sure do!! But I already am! I jus' want more  !!!
I only have 2 and I am so excited!

Be thankful you only have two :p

Nah, just kidding...

Three of my four females have given birth over the last 3 days - I have 50+ fry swimming around. They're so great

That's all right. In another month or so, she'll give you more.

And your other female should be giving you some more before too much longer.

:D And the fun begins! :p my mollies pop them out like crazy! And i only have 2 females (she was pregnant when i got her so unfortunatly she is still fertile for another month) but i was thinking about getting another male molly :p just for fun HEHE :kana: its gonna be so FRIGGIN SWEET!
