My Next Outdoor "pond"

I have just placed a bid on this 1000l pool on our local SA e-bay called "Bid or Buy"..... If I win the offer, which closes in 50 minutes, it'll be my next outdoor pond and my intentions are to (cycle) and put 6 adult BN's in there.... Any suggestions as to what to put in would make the BN's feel at home??

I wouldnt put BNs in that. Like most catfish they have extremely sharp spines on there fins and are know for popping bags with them so i wouldnt risk it unless you want 1000l of water on the floor.

was thinking exsact same thing, unless you can do something to the inside to protect from sharp objects, for example if a bird decides to come down and pray they might perce with claws or beak, even some stronger pond liner, could you did or crete a above ground pool, there are some good step by step video's on you tube and another well known website

Oh No!!!... new lesson learnt.... while I was watching the minutes count down..... some Alana female placed a bid 30 seconds before closing, and won the bid whilst I was cheering that I have won!!!.... Never count your chickens before they're hatched....

However, I still have a circular (brand new) 2m diameter x 18"deep (over 2000l) kiddies pool in it's box in the garage.... This will then have to be my new outside pond for BN's. (not inflatable). Just need to find the spot to erect it.

I'm still disappointed at loosing this bid.... I had the perfect spot for it. (and that locked away brand new one has been in the garage for about 4 years - at least)

Righteo!!... It hath arrived, and I am busy filling it..... as it is with these deals.... the listed photo shows a 3 layer with 2 adults and 2 kids in it.... the pic of the item (on the box) I received, is a 2 layer with 2 kids in it.... but at least the measurements correspond.

The filter will be installed over the weekend, and now I still do not (really) know what I want to put in there.... Congo tetras, BN's, Boesemani's.... Anything that will just continue to multiply with no more intervention than water changes..... (I have in the meantime met a fish importer and he said I should just draw up a wishlist... more suggestions???
