Looks much better really nice set up - if you leave those plants on the sand it will spread like a carpet Which would look awesome - are you going to use CO2 on here? You could put some Blyxa Japonica near the wood and it would look amazing just the combo of those 2 plants with that composition in the tank

I would like them to go over the sand covered slate the top piece and then where those current plants are put about 3-4 pots of dwarf hair-grass and then something else.
I'm not going to use CO2, I'm just going to be using Seachem Flourish instead.

Fish Stock List:

• Pair of German Blue Rams
• 6 Metae Corydoras
• 6 Ottocinclus
• Shoal of Galaxy Rasboras or Shoal of Neon Tetras

- Not sure which shoaling fish to get out of the Rasboras and Neons, also thinking of getting a trio of Kuhli Loach, but I would like to have the chance of breeding the rams, and was unsure if the Kuhli's would cause problems for that?

Hi slakey... i heard it was updated.. its looking good bud!

HC needs high lighting, CO2, and ferts.... weekly water changes of course. Success also largely depends on the initial planting. You have to be very patient when planting HC.

I doubt it will grow well in your substrate, it does best in specialist plant soil/substrate. Have a read about it.

I went to another aquatic shop at a garden centre today and wow! Some really nice fish there, I've made a new list for me to look into for my shoaling fish lol.

Also picked up 3 pots of dwarf hair-grass and 1 Anubias nana.

I decided to try and start a carpet with the Hemianthus callitichoides on the slate piece, and here's some pictures.

Should I remove the wood as surely it will be blocking the light to some of the Hemianthus callitichoides.

Also how does the planting look?

Should I move the other clump of hair-grass from the back to the front left corner with the others, or should I move it to the back left corner near the wood?

I'll get some pictures later on tonight, if it's clearer.

Would look good under a more experienced aquatic planter.

The slate would look really good covered I think.

Think I need to turn the Anubias nana round though so you can see more of the leaves from the front of the tank.

Just need a black background, and then possibly buy the 150W OTL and then look at the fish

It's the slate cave that interests me the most actually, that design would work quite well with shy fish such as corys and rams. Allowing them to feel safe whilst still allowing us to view them.

Looks much better slake. The HC would do better in the open, getting as much light as possible, so moving the wood would be a good idea.

Thanks if that HC doesn't carpet the slate then I'll redo it with java moss hopefully, also gonna look into getting more hairgrass and putting it down the left hand side and round the back of the wood as well.
