Eh, I bought a cheap mouse once 'cause I thought mine was broken (turns out it was just cluttered with gunk inside) and it didn't run smooth at all >.< It didn't have a spinny wheel in the middle either. You don't realize how useful that thing is until you don't have one anymore!
Get a decent optical one, you won't look back!!!
