Hi so like I said the other day I got an other female Heros Severus on Saturday things have been a bit touch and go with aggression but so far seems okay. These two girls are about 5-6 inches and I assume both are adults. Just to clear a few things up for anyone reading this Heros Severus is a mouthbrooding Severum and looks like this with the red spots and less bars than the common green sev which is Heros Efascticious. Heros Efascticious is sold all the time as Heros Severus and a lot of profiles for Severums give details for Heros Efascticious but names it as Heros Severus which isnt the case two totally different fish with different breeding habits and with Heros Severus (true ones) staying about two thirds of the size of the others.

So here they are :) My Girls - Lilly the darker and more orange Severus - Daisy the lighter Severus and Elsie my female Nicaraguan.

Reasons for names - Lilly, because she has male markings but is female so Lilly Savage  - Elsie, because shes from London and anyone who is a fan of the Mighty Boosh will know her from the eels episode haha - Daisy because shes almost white and it goes with the pattern of naming my Severums after flowers :)

And yes I have photoshop but colours are still accurate,

Haha they have lipstick on.. Very nice. Do the 2 severums get along?

Lovely looking fish!

Sometimes between you, hamfist, mark and snowflake, I get a brief spell of "one more tank syndrome" combined with thoughts of the great looking Americas fish you have (plus the fact I would love to give my Opsarius a bigger space and my Denisonii may need something longer in a years time)...

I have never noticed the lipstick before haha - it was a bumpy start between the two but its been getting better as the week goes on I think it is going work its self out. I usually like to give it two weeks before I decide if its going to work or not but so far its looking good touch wood.

I was thinking the same as Snowflake about the lipstick hehe. Lovely looking fish :)

I think my Green is a Heros Efascticious, but she's only about 2" at the moment so probably difficult to say for certain. She was sold as a Severus but I am well aware of LFS getting fish IDs wrong

Really must get my camera sorted

my severum used to love making out with my jack dempsey, but i don't that they were in love

Lovely fish and, yes, it's a fine pic of your nic - truly stunning!

Nobody of the Goat - it's only a matter of time until you give in to buying a "proper" sized tank !

Thanks guys :) the two seem to be fine with each other today - Lilly is the more dominant one but no where near as bad as the other day at the moment. They just spend most of the time chilling in the wood together. I really want to get a good full tank shot as when I swapped some fish for the new Severus we moved the tank around a lot and it looks so good now.

Also is it just my fish that play with sticks? Some of my wood was too big for the tank so I had to snap bits off and just left them in the tank to add more authenticity but all my big fish constantly pick them up and move them around the tank haha it is one of the best thing about my fish :D

No my sevs love playing with the stalk of java fern! Vinney is a particular little devil for breaking off a "stick" and swimming round the tank with it dangling from his mouth. Trumpet snails are another favorite "toy" especially Bailey, poor trumpet snails have been wiped out in that tank.
