What's new

MLB 2026

Yep. The Braves have been killed by injuries! We won the NL east title 7 years in a row, before the Phillies rose up and took control. Then the new manager. A transition period for ATL, but the fact they have the most runs scored as a team and tied 1st most runs avg per game (5) is unreal. I have had a lot to brag on with this team, so of course there will and has to be some bumps in the road. Look at CLE, a semi good start, then recently have turned it ON!

Yep, CLE is killing it! They have the staff!
Actually the Nats have the most runs scored but the Braves are close.

I was just about to edit that, yeah. They have been on a hot streak latetly, and CJ Abrams leads in RBI. I do not keep A close look all the time on the stats, just skim, that is why I missed that I guess. Whoops lol

I suppose you know what I mean. 10-2 WASH last night, against CLE

Sigh, I'd love to know what happened to Bibee in that game. What was it, 5 homers in three innings. It was like there was a bad imposter on the mound.

WASH is just having a good run right now, but they do not have the depth; it will end soon enough. Sorry you caught them in the hottest part of their streak.

We just snuck out a win over Boston. Closer, Iglessias, gave up 2 runs last night to make things to close for comfort. His first runs allowed since late last season. Strider settled in after giving up 2 back to back homers in the top of the 1st. I think once Schellenbach and Smith-Shawver return, things will be looking up even more for ATL. Our rotation is just hanging on, injuries is the Braves greatest pain, for sure.

At least Cleveland took one from the Nats and keeps a 4 game lead.

Even though starting pitchers have a horrendous start now and then I'm still a bit concerned about Bibee. In any high level sport it is, if not more so, what is going on in the head than the body. Just from his body language on the mound I fear that he may be getting frustrated. After Shane Bieber left Bibee was the main man. Now he is number 3 at best without a single win this season. For the most part the lack of wins is not his fault. He is lucky if the offense gives him 2 runs. This has to get in his head a bit. He has to be near perfect in a start. I think his next start will say a lot. If, win or lose, he does well His head is still in the right place. Another really bad start would indicate a trip back to tripple-A to get his head back in shape.

Braves won 10-2. Sale throwingn 99 mph, at 37 years old. Amazing, cy young indeed. Acuna jr, grand slam. Maybe they heard me and got mad? Lol, we shall see next few days how they play.

Hope I don't jinx things with this post but couldn't ask for a better start in the first of three games for Cleveland against the Red Sox! After the first inning Cleveland is up 4-0. This is a big series for Cleveland; six straight singles and a sac fly.

So, why a big series? To be a true Cleveland fan you have to hate the Red Sox and Yankees. This may seem odd as they aren't even in the same AL division but it stems back to the 1960s when all three were all in the same division.

Whew! When Boston made it a one run game in the fifth I worried that I did the jinx thing but Cade Smith now has 20 saves to lead the league. Cleveland wins 4-3.

Cade Smith as the closer has done really well. When Cleveland lost Clase due to greed and stupidity I didn't see what they had to replace. Cade Smith has done an awesome job.

Braves won 8-3. No slump I guess! For the offense at least. Acuna Jr, another home run! I think one of the reasons ATl is the best in the league rn is their bench, one of the best, Mateo, White, Leon, all contribute, no namers or not. Team is looking very sharp. A good win! Hope they get another tomorrow, in CIN.

Don't often see that! One of the main strengths with Cleveland is pitching specifically the bullpen. Today the bullpen gave up 6 runs in the 9th for a loss.

Like I've said before it isn't about winning individual games but winning series. Sunday is the rubber game for the series and, I think, Bibee is starting for Cleveland. I hope to see the Bibee I know instead of of the disaster of his last start. If another awful start they almost have to send him back to triple A to get his head back in shape. Sadly that could do as much harm to his head than good. MLB pitchers are like some fish that have to be dominate to excel. They just can't doubt themselves.

Braves just got their 40th win, they are the first to 20 this year, 30, and 40. Amazing. Acuna jr 4 total homers in 3 days, two tonight. He might be back. Martin Perez is just giving ATL quality starts for someone who is in his upper 30s. This team, defense, starters, bullpen, offense, is looking great this year. Everyone is hot overall. Mateo with a big home run tonight. He gets the job done for a bench player. Harris II, 308 batting avg. Olson, second in NL with home runs, added to it tonight with 16. I am being spoiled by this team! In baseball, it is not if slumps will come, (and know this from experince, 12 years worth) its when. But right now they are not in one, that is for sure. Impressed so far by Weiss and the other staff moves, most notably the new hitting coach, and new pitching coach.

Ronald Acuna Jr.... 5 home runs... 4 DAYS? How is this even possible, and today his HR was the first pitch of the game. He is truly on fire. But right now they Braves are still down 2 runs, 3-1. If we do not win today, that is ok, because the Braves already took the series.

Do any of you guys have some spare pitchers they could lend the Jays? Applicants need to be alive with a vague idea of where the ball is going when they throw it and enough strength to last 6 innings.
