Male Platys Get Lonely?

Morning! Anyway my platy still hasnt had her babies yet even though she does look like she is literally about to burst open! If she hasnt given birth when I get home then I'm soooo gonna put her into a breeding trap to see if that will help her along to giving birth as she is getting somewhat hounded by the two males!

Oh and yeah fag can also mean gay here but it also means a smoke (look I even know some american terms lol) too!

So have yours dropped yet? I was checking on the fry that I had left this morning and I found that there was one dead! At last I can see a change in my fry its only been nearly a month but they actually look more like a fish than just a pair of eyes! Oooh and they're starting to turn yellow and have the two black stripes on the tail like their mums even though not all of them have it! I also saw one without a dorsal fin last night then again it could just have had it clamped against its back but couldnt see any sort of sign of it! Only time will tell

Morning...Hahaha that's funny...I should pick up some of this slang from you to use over here and everyone would be like Huh?? congrats on the fry and hopefully the other will come along soon...mine still hasn't dropped andback in the main tank, the CAE was spotted hitting the male platy that is left in there i so wanna take him to the pond down the street and let him swim with the goldfish lol although i could never do that since he'd probably die immediately as it is frickin freezin over here....also i wanna add like two more small cories to put in with the other two but i know that's way too much in the 5 gallon lol sigh anyway off to work now catch ya later once i enter the 7th layer of hell....BTW this is my 100th post WOOHOO!!!

Hmmm english slang aint all that and I dont even know where half of it comes from yet alone where I've been picking it up lol! I'll try and add some here and there just for you!

Wish it was freezing here in a way esp to say its SUPPOSED to be the COLDEST WINTER ever yeah right what a load of bull after all I was in a vest top on Saturday and there are bees flying about its more like April weather here not January! I want lots of snow we've only had maybe 1cm of snow where I am sucks big time!

If it was summer where you were then you'd be able to release the CAE into the stream lol! I once put a whole load of guppies in my pond one summer as was over run with them! They did brilliantly in there until it started to get cold so I took pitty on some and brought them in again!

Can't wait for today to end it is going way too slow for me!

hahaha...yeah it has been same here not as cold not as much snow as last winter...but this week have been just under 0 C while last week and week before it was more like 6 C which is pretty warm for Michigan this time of year...I blame GW and global warming, but I shouldn't start talking politics on here too, otherwise I might end up getting even more blacklisted hahahaha...anyway, other thing is there were some kind of chinese fish, maybe it is this one as now I would understand, that were released in lakes in Michigan, and pretty much everywhere in US, wiped out all local species in the lake...I think a lake in Maryland or somewhere on the East Coast had to be drained to catch them and kill them b/c they had destroyed all local fish life in that lake...So I'm kind of against throwing him in a pond, especially knowing the behavior of a CAE and I don't like to F**K with the local ecosystem...esp since the river near my house is starting to get some trout back in it...anyway, I might take him back to the store over the weekend and be forceful about it and say how he's killed *suspected* and been spotted attacking my platys so he has to go bye bye and since there's no way I still have my receipt, I'll gladly accept it if they can just take him back ohhh i feel bad returning him b/c they're kinda cool looking and he has such personality...it's just the killer personality side I don't appreciate Hey since i dont' get to talk to many Brits that often, do you like tea and what kind is a good kind? I'm sooo addicted to Japanese tea right now, and really like some kind of English Tea I bought in Japan that was imported from Europe, but can' remember the name...anyway, maybe tea isn't your thing but thought i'd check since i'm sucha an addict and could use something new aside from the green stuff....I kinda quit smoking and stopped drinking coffee recently so trying to drink more tea since it is better for you...anyway, im babbling and that's b/c the caffeine in the tea has me all hyper and I have no work to do......

How long ago did you buy the CAE? I had mine about a month before returning it, you could just see if you could exchange it for a different type of fish instead thats what I did!

Talking about tea, no I personally don't drink tea or coffe can't stand the after taste, but a few different teas are PG tips, Tetley, Twinings (they do allsorts of flavours inc fruit tea), Yorkshire tea, typhoo they are just the ones that I can name off the top of my head (not bad to say I dont drink the stuff lol)! You could always drink coke or pepsi, then again I've been told that ours tastes better than yours apparently its the same with the chocolate bars and sweets, I aint got a clue as never tried american sweets or chocolate! Oooh I lied I've had a tootsie pop! Its so not fair you guys have that really nice cinamon flavour chewing gum dentine fire and the wrigleys one! Wrigleys stopped doing it over here it totally sucks as really enjoyed that luckily a friend has just come back from america and she brought some back so get to have a bit every now and then!

Yeah dont start me on the politics I was in a right debate on here over the cat vs dog scandal thing in the household pets section! In the end I just gave up arguing with the guy before I got chucked off the site! Politics does suck big time though!

Oooh not long til I get to go home cant wait! Maybe my fish has popped already (doubt it though) I saw your betta pic the other day too is it a veil tail? Mine is a double tail and he is blue with red fins with blue edging! He is much better looking than I thought he would be when I got him (he was hiding behind a filter in the LFS) It's hard to choose what betta I want next I cant wait for the weekend to go check some out! Might get a couple of female wag tail platies (if the store has any) after all I only have two females and two males so really I need at least two more females

I got the CAE almost a month ago...not sure what I would trade it for though, if they would let me do that...maybe try for a small group of cories I want to say it was Tetley...grrrrrrr I can't remember...yeah everything is different for you guys...My dad works for GM and I used to love when he would go to GM Europe, b/c he would bring me back candy from England trips/Germany trips mmmm yum! I know in Japan the Coke tastes different, better of course, I'm sure your's does as well. I'm a HUGE pop drinker, so I had been trying to cut down when I was getting in shape/going to the gym. So trying to replace Coke with Tea at work. I remember one Simpsons eps when they go to England and Lisa/Bart eat Brittish chocolate and go crazy lol Yeah but some of our cinnamon gums, I forget which one, loses it's flavor way to quickly. I should find out what kind you want and air mail it from work lol I got in a fight in my office about politics after two girls hid my name tag from our board at the entrance, so it looked like i didn't work here anymore, which was frustrating when i was expecting packages as I don't trust courier services...anyway, to get back at them (they are republicans and love BUsh) so I put Hillary Clinton Pictures and Hillary for President pictures all over their desks and on their computer as well LOL they were not amused so it was worth it, and i got my name back a few days later...yeah hopefully she popped for you....when I got the betta they didn't tell me anything about he/she I saw it in the little cup and he/she was the only one of that color so I had to get that one....i need to change the water tongiht though as it was getting cloudy this morning, but i think i need water conditioner for bettas since i ran out...sigh...yes i have 4 more hours to go until i get to go home...I love my sunset wag tails...just they're very horny for each other...the prego female is always watchin the male in teh other tank so they're always swimming next to each other even though they're in diff tanks....

Hey you airmail the dentine fire gum and I'll send you the tetley tea bags lol Its the wrigleys one that loses flavour way too fast I was eating it earlier! I'm a big pop drinker too which sucks as its way too expensive for what it is!

That sounded like pretty good revenge to me lol! Luckily it is rare for that sort of thing to happen here so I don't need to get revenge on anyone (were all very placid here what can I say) even though my boyf got into a fight at work on Friday and got suspended until monday (stupid prat that he is (I love him really honest))! I think Arnie should become the next president lol........ Esp for when he finishes his term and he can use his famous line I'll be back lol

Hmmm gym whats one of them I dont know what they are either! Only kidding have joined a few gyms in the past but it never lasted long I'd get bored I'd rather take my dog out for long walks than spend time on a tredmill! Or go out for a proper bike ride!

Yeah you should def trade it in! Technically they shouldnt give you a hard time not if they're a decent store they wont anyway all you have to say is "you sold me this fish and I have recently found out that it will out grow my tank and that you have lost fish with strange wounds on them and then recently saw it chasing about your other fish and you dont want to risk losing any more" or something along them lines!

I'm sick of my platies being horny I mean don't they ever get bored of doing it and giving birth to way too many babies! Surely it must hurt! It's a shame the females cant beat up the guys lol now that would be funny to see!

CAE VS. Zebra Dannio

How crazy is this, I come home and they're both dead, just like I wrote in here to you today...I think I killed them, whenever i have these weird feelings about things, they die or somethin bad happens...like my first platy male i dreamed was hurt/dying, i woke up with this weird feeling and ran to the tank to check and the exact fish i dreamed about died...my ammonia wasn't very high and i had treated the tank with the stuff that takes out the nitrites and nitrates and did a water change yesterday....and since only the 2 agressive fish are dead, i really think they may have fought to the death?? I don't know, but anwyay in a semi-sad way, my CAE problem is gone or not really sure i so wanna go out and get more fish now but i shouldn't what with the platys...yes they are freakin horny...like i wrote the poor blue high fin mm platy was so upset by the male chasin after her she hid in the cave with the cae and not eating...best part was the male followed her and apparently was dumb and couldn't find her in the cave came out all pissed and a zebra got in his way at hte opening of the cave and he just pushed it outta his way LOL for me i lost 30 lbs or around 14 kgs or so (guessing at the conversion) at the gym so i really like going there as i can listen to my ipod and kinda relax plus its close to my lfs hehehehe...email me ur address if u want (work or home) and I'll send u ur gum I have a bunch of idead let me know if this sounds ok:

5 gallon 1 fem prego platy , 2 small cories, wanna add 2 more of the small cories then this tank will be temp fry / cory tank after i get the mother out

10 gallon tank until bigger tank is bought, 1 male platy, 2 zebras, maybe another platy ? or just wait and move both fems back in once the pregnancy is over..
