Looking For Some Help

This is kind of an emergency. I'm trying to help my father find a good home for his fish. He's elderly and will be moving to an assisted living facility where they don't allow fish. I'm frantically looking around the Internet trying to find someone who will take them for free. I have posted to Craigslist, Freecycle, Facebook, Aardvark and contacted the 4 local aquarium clubs listed in my state of Massachusetts.

It's Wednesday and I'd like to have found a good home for them by this weekend. The 55 gallon fish tank they're in is leaking. I removed enough water so I think that the leak has stopped. The problem is my Dad's apartment is about an hour train ride from where I live. My Dad is in the hospital so he can't check on them.

I'm hoping to find some help here on fishforums.net. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do?

How about the local fish shops? They're a last resort but it may be worth ringing round. How long have the adds been live for? I can normally re-home fish within the day if I'm giving them away free. But the responses don't always come in until a few hours later.

your best bet is Creatures Creatures Creatures in N.Smithfield and RI Aquarium in Providence

I was able to find 3 people who are interested. So hopefully one of them will take them and give them a good home. I can try local fish shops in case one of those people don't take them. He's had them for about 2 years.

I live in Boston but the fish are in Ayer. There are some folks coming by Saturday. Hopefully one of them will take them and give them a good home. There are a couple of Angel Fish, couple of Bottom Feeders, some Swordtails and a few others.

I just wanted to let everyone know that the fish have found a good home. Two very nice members from the Pioneer Valley Aquarium Society came by and picked them up.
