This is what I saw when I came home today, lol! I was afraid he had killed her at first

This girl stays stunned FOREVER. She's very dark like her daddy, I love her

I set up tailless guy in a spawning tank too, but no eggs from that pair so far. He's being crossed to a copper DT girly.

SO WHAT DO you get when you breed a NT(no tail) and a DT toghether? lol
A ST?
No, not really... either 50% tailless, or none until the F2... or just none whatsoever, if it turns out it's not genetic :p

pica_nuttalli -- There are far fewer now, but I have no way of knowing exactly how many because there's a HUGE Java fern in there that they are hiding in. They got velvet and I didn't notice for a while because they were so small, so that killed off a good number of them. It looks like I have more DTs than STs out of what's left, though.

Congrats on the spawn. If mine goes well, they'd be a weird combination of relatives to the ones in this spawn. Both cousins and half-sibs at same time! lol.

PS. I like that female too. She's quite a bit different from the one I got :) I'm having probs with the boy being more aggressive despite the female being more than willing to spawn. any advice? He fake-attacks her until she hides though she originally hangs out under the nest with breeding bars and head in a down-position. Quite frustrating.

Would love to see the outcome of the tail-less spawn to see if it is genetic or just a deformity :)

ah um.. um.. I don't want to spoil the mood, but the fish in that last pic.. he doesn't have dropsy, does he? :\ I just am a bit worried at the look of his scales.

No tail does look a little pineconed in that picture. or is that the girly?

you would know if he had dropsy as the scales around his abdomen would be pointing away from from his body. as it is, he has a smooth silhouette.

besides, i think you can trust synirr to notice dropsy and not breed a sick fish ;)

I for one have absolute confidence in Synirr.

But just out of curiousity, where do you see his abdomen?
