Is It Safe ?

Newcomer here,

Just starting my first ever fishless cycle.

Question :

Is it safe to use an air stone or what have you on my Jewel Trigon 190 tank ? The T8 lighting unit supplied with the Trigon 190 system is situated only about 50-60mm from the water surface level,and although the lighting unit is supposedly 'waterproof', I am a wee bit concerned about any would be bubbles 'popping' around my lights ?

Anyone ?

The lighting units are IP67 rated, it'll be fine, they're designed to keep out condensation and water than condenses on the lid, so a few splashes will cause no issues.

Hi,


Condensation was another concern.I have also re- directed the air nozzle so it sits furthest away from the Lights.

Have re-fitted the air pump now, and it seems to be working ok.
