How Many Fish?

I agree with curiosity above.

1 angel fish would be ok.
Choose a nice shoaling fish like the ones curiousity mentioned, harlequins are a good hardy shoaling fish.

Personally, I think you'd be ok with 1 Bristlenose plec, they can reach 6" but rarely grow larger than 5" so only 1 should be ok, then some of the loaches curiousity mentioned or a shoal of corys.

You'll have to sweet talk your bf into letting you get a largr tank if he wants an oscar lol, for an oscar you would need a 75 gal tank minimum and thats just for an oscar on its own with no other tankmates, if you wanted tankmates the tank would have to be bigger. Also oscars would need very good filtration so you'd probably need 2 external filters.

How about a Bristlenose Plec ?
Some Tetras or Cherry Barbs ?
Lemon Tetras are colourful and interesting , I'm biassed but highly recomend some small shoaling fish then you could add 1 or 2 feature fish :good:

If you like Rams, you could take a look at some of the Apistogrammas. They have really beautiful colours when they're settled in and they have all the wonderful personality of the cichlid family.

i dont have to sweet talk my bf lol we getting a much larger tank after xmas is out the way so while the fish is still a babie hell b fine till then lol my bf got his oscar lol n we made sure hes got adiquate filtration and seems very happy, well b transfering him to a 151cm x 61cm x 64cm tank shortly after xmas which hell love then we gunna get sum tankmates 4 him then so he wont b lonely lol x x

It's roughly 5ft x 2ft x 2ft...I get that at just over 560 litres...
Sounds great to me. :)

Just to check though...
You realise the tank isn't cycled? So you will now be cycling with the oscar and the oscar is a big waste producer.
You need to be doing daily water testing, and make sure that the levels of ammonia and nitrite always stay below 0.25ppm (probably at least 1 50% water change every day)

Just make sure he gets upgraded ASAP after Christmas! He wont be ok in a 20gal for long.

Agree with curiousity, you will defo need to upgrade the tank asap. The oscar will more than likely outgrow your current tank within about 3-4 months.

Have a read of the links in my signature regarding the nitrogen cycle and fish-in cycle which is the situation you now find yourself in.

What filtration is currently on the tank? When you get the 5ft tank you will definately need 2 external filters.
