The misuse of 'tetra' is sadly widespread. For example, it is not uncommon to see listings on aquabid or ebay for "Harlequin Tetras", or worse, "Harley Quinn Tetras," for Harlequin Rasboras (Trigonostigma heteromorpha). I recently saw a listing for "White Cloud Mountain Tetras" (Tanichthys albonubes) .I suspect because any small, colorful fish may look tetra-like to the uninitiated.M. kubotai are sometimes labelled as green tetras in shops, just to confuse customers
