just before my diner i decided to feed my big tank a bit.

I start putting in super worms as usual and the oscar and arowana dash to get in there first. the oscar got the first one then i put another in and the arowana got a bit excited jumping at the food and jumping out the tank aswell!!

now he didn't actuallly jump to the floor but jumped onto the glass ledge then flapped on the sliding covers then slid back into the tank...

thats the scariest thing i'ved seen this year!!

Don't they eat in the wild by sometimes jumping out of water to get food , [ie] monkey fish .

they do indeed!! unfortuanately because the wier(overflow) for the sump is high there's not much space between water level and cover either!!

He's about 9inch, only got him aorund the new year.

O_O I would freak out if ANY 9 inch fish jumped out at me.

How much is an arrowana anyway? They sell a few baby ones at a LPS by my house but they don't have a price. I believe they are silver in color and only about 3 inches in length. So cute when they're little.

I paid £320 in total for him what a deal!!! in shops they go for about £700.

The sliver ones in petshops are from south america, while the expensive ones are from south east asia and usualy have a red or pink hue, on aquabid I have see some go for over $1,000

crazy, theirs a big silver at my LFS ( i no they are lame compared to urs dude)
and it is insane, its mouth is HUGE, its probly 18 inches
