Hi ok, I have had this tank for about a month and some days not. Here are the specs and readings NOW, it was not always like this I used to have ammonia issues:

Ammonia 0
pH 7.6
Nitrate 10
Nitrite o
Chlorine 0

Ok so I just go the tank to where it looks like it is cycling now , I was doing 25 % water changes DAILY for 3 weeks and adding prime and then switching to distilled water every other day between water changes. So like prime Monday distilled Tuesday prime Wednesday distilled thursday etc.

Before you ask YES I tested the distilled water and temp matched to make sure it was safe and treated it for chlorine which it had none.  anyhow 3 days AFTER the reading became normal now my fish have little tiny white specs on their fins. What really caught my attention i my guppy is active but then will lay on the bottom or hide in the corner and the other fish will simply swim near her. Also she is swimming funny like she is shaking and swimming  and just seems sick please help

Here are some pics.

From what I can see it doesn't look like much, but is there any way you can get a better picture? It's hard to tell.

The white marks on fins are not ich. Ich looks like little grains of salt or sugar sat on the fish's scales. Little white kinda scuff marks on the fin are just down to water quality, I would say do daily water changes again for 3 or 4 days and see how it goes. Don't bother with distilled water, tap water treated with Prime will be fine.

The female guppy's behaviour could very easily be a sign of birthing, whilst she doesn't look hugely squared off in your photo, sometimes photos are misleading and sometimes young fish just aren't that square.

Also, am I right in thinking you have paper test strips? I ask because most liquid tests don't have a chlorine test, but paper ones often do. If I'm right, I strongly recommend getting a liquid test kit. I personally recommend the Salifert tests, many people on here use the API kits, but they can be difficult to use. I also like the Nutrafin tests, but these are expensive.

I actually use API Liquid testing kits for the ammonia and nitrates and nitrates but yes the chlorine is from strips since I could not find a liquid for that . Thank you for your advice I will try that and see what happens.

Also those are bad pictures but the lighter one which look kinda honey colored is called honey I think she is pregnant and has been that big since I got her so I guess I will be hurrying to get some hornwort since I hear breeder cages are stressful.

Sunrise the smaller one I have no idea but that orange part close to her tail has been getting bigger as the weeks go by

So I guess I might be welcoming baby fry soon.

I will try and post better pictures it is kinda hard though since they swim so fast sometimes and then when I am just relaxing so are they lol.

BTW I think I see a fish eye on Honey it looks kinda like her eye inside her stomach except smallish -- I will try and get a picture then you can tell me how fast I need to run to the store to get the hornwort

THIS was a Week AGO: See her Tail is that ick or just because my water was bad for so long? I ask again because now it is on her fins and tail and there is more.

Don't be surprised if the fish eat some or all of the fry.

And no, that is definitely not ich.

Thanks guys and yes I am expecting it but since they are million fish I am ok with that since they are both pregnant lol as soon as I get the hornwort hopefully some will survive :)

UPdate::: They did have ICK guys I think the pics were too hard to tell but eventually those spots got bigger and was on the fishes body and looked like salt , I am treating the tank with aquarium salt and 30 degree temps as well as an ick medication. My fry seem to be doing fine :) Thanks everyone for your support !! I love this site!!

So sorry to hear about the Ich, but yay for the fry!

No worries thanks they are super cutie guppy babies and now everyone is cured YAY!
