What if I put 1 female guppy and 5 female bettas in the 10 gallon?

P.S. have any of you ever tried to put 1 male and 1 female in a 10 gallon tank together? Can I try my luck, and if they would fight I would hurry up and get one of them out of that jam. I've got two caves so they would each have a place to retreat, and I'm getting two, three packs of plants+the five plants I've already got in there. So if not then I wont worry with it, but could I try my luck and as said if they fought, I would get one of them into a new tank. Just wondering, no bashing please.

Get one or more of Wuv's. They will be ready in a few weeks she said. I think Synirr said she only had special need bettas left. Why not just get Wuv to give you three. Someone else has a spawn on the web, but I don't remember, and I don't think those are ready. Wuv's would be awesome. I'm getting some. Talk to her.

macdaddy~ Just explain to your mom that the folks here breed as a hobby and the adoptarinos are fish that are not culled, as some other breeders do, but they're not show fish NOR going to be used in a breeding program, so they make good pets and they're given away.

On that note, don't ask me right now because mine are too wittle,wittle,wittle And, it's too late in the year for me to go priority. I'm afraid it's express only from here until Spring. It's too cold for them to take such a long trip.

i think it's a recipe for disaster... or dead fish. there are several spawn diaries on the betta forum right now, why not PM some of those members to see about some females? at the same time, you'll still have to wait a few months for them to grow and like wuv said, it's getting to cold to ship priority. try asking your LFS if they can order some females for you, or you could also check out if you have a local betta club... just an idea.

That's the thing, the onlt LFS I have is nasty. The last time I went I got fleas and almost lice from the animals. I've hears that they opened up an all fish store in Winston-Salem so me and my mom are going to check that out tomorrow.

What if I loaded the tank, I mean load it with plants and add another cave. Then could I put a male and female in there? I want to try it so bad, and if they would fight I would take them out fast.

No one will want to give you one of their babies if you act irresponsibly. Think of the consequences of the things you do and say before you do them. It will save you a lot of torment. Synirr and Wuv love their babies. That's one reason they don't "cull" them. But instead they work very hard to find them homes. I can only think that "cull" means to kill them in some way.

They had to think ahead before they bred their bettas. Then they took responsibility and found homes for the babies, even the ones that are a little "different" and are "special."

There will be a time in the future when a very nice fish on this forum will be up for adoption. You will like it and want it. Do you want the breeder to remember what you said about wanting to chance the life and health of a dear betta on some childish impulse.

Now that is a smack not a bash. I am talking to you like you care and have good intentions.

I'm sorry, I just thought it would be cool to have a male and female together, and I'm sorry for being irresponsible.

P.S. I don't know if I can wait a couple more weeks. My female needs a bigger tank ASAP, and If i put her in there now, she'll be dominate of the tank, and kill any other fish that come in there.

This is really stressful though.

Dude, you could put her in the tank now, but whenever you add another female, just REdecorate the place, they wont know the difference

And please dont try the Male/Female thing
