Fluval Tank And Filter

HI
Does anyone think the external filter through
the base of the tank spoils your aquascape?
does it make aquascaping difficult?

I can understand where your coming from however it doesn't really bother me, I think you can quite easily scapegoat your tank to attract the attention away from the intake

This is my tank, since then I've replacing ed the plants with real ones which have acquired more attention from the intake, plus my shrimps like to sit on the pre filter sponge so I wouldn't change mine regardless ha

I prefer this way as you haven't got the great big pipes coming into the tank from the top. Also if you have an internal filter then you lose even more space.

I have a Fluval Vicenza (260 (bowfront) with the stand pipes in the corner on the right hand side....

Cant even see the pipes! I have one fake plant in the tank to the side of the pipe (as peoplecan see down the side of the tank) and a fake plant doesnt pose the same risk for disintigrating and blocking up the pipes...

The rest of the tank... 2" of JBL Manado Plant Substrate, Lava Rock stank in the left corner with a coconut shell under it for the Krib pair, twisted wood roots on the right hand side to create a frame and cave. Java Fern attatched to Lava Rock and Wood, Anubias too and then the WHOLE of the tank is heavily planted (i cant possibly squeaze another plant in if i tried!) with Crypts, Wisteria, Amazon Swords, Hydrocotyl (sp), Vallis, Hygrophillia and various others...

Looks awesome!

I also have a Fluval vicenza 260 and i have to totally agree. Plus the pipes coming up from the bottom is alot neater than up the back and over the top.
Plus having pipes through the bottom makes filter priming sooo easy
I wouldnt have it any other way

I have a Fluval Venezia 190 and more than happy with the pipes coming up from the bottom of the tank. Looks better than pipes on the outside and makes water changes a lot easier as you just fill the bucket from the filters aquastop unit. you can hide the majority of the pipework with plants anyway.

On subject, I don't think the pipes are an eye sore, even less so now i've got a black background added.

Good idea, but personally I don't think pipes would annoy me so much that I would do that
