Fluval 405

Hi I got a secondhand fluval 405, i set it up yesterday and all was well, got up this morning and its very noisy so i took it apart and found the round plastic with clips each side that hold the impeller in place had unclipped on one side, so put back together and now its happened again , how can i stop this from happening, does any one know or has this happened to you.

One thing you could do is buy a replacement part. There may be a DIY technique though id wait and see if here is before buying a replacement part.

just found instructions online and thought i need a new impeller cover, on closer inspection the impeller cover is fine, BUT where the impeller cover clips on to the motor housing the tabs look a bit worn away so may need new motor housing and if thats the case i will probably just get a new filter, not a fluval, maybe a tetratec 1200

Shame just read this, I have a fluval 405 which the motor has blown on, everything else is fine on it! I wish I had some spare cash I would have it off you for spares for mine.
