Fluval 304 Help Please!

Hi, I have a fluval 304 and I have put it together, however, I can not get the damn thing to start!

Can anyone help?

Not sure on the type of filter, but just try and pull it up and down in the water to get the flow going.

External so thats no good, did you wet the sponges first.

yeah, I did that, but it just will not start!

Just take the impellor out and rinse it under the tap.
The impellor sometimes gets stuck if you know what i mean.

I have tried that, still, nothing

Can't think of anything else, its faulty them i would take it back.
Only other thing try blowing into the tubes.

when I say start I mean the water will not go down into the filter ( the silly starter pump thingy)

Have you put BOTH of the levers down?
Did you fill the filter with water?
Does the filter DEFINATELY have power? (i made this mistake, doh!!!)
Is it making a noise or what???
