People are actually congratulating this asshole?

What's the difference between this and cockfighting, dogfighting, bullfighting etc etc etc?

Why don't you take this #### to some lame underground website where your own special kind of bastard can congratulate you and your winnings and leave this site to people who actually care about the hobby?
Please, there is no need for that.
We have already established that he is an experieneced fighterand takes excellent care of his fish.
The difference between this and the other forms of animal fightings above that you mentioned is it's natural for these fish to fight, dogs, cocks and bulls were trained to. It's been a long standing tradition in Thailand and other indonesian areas for hundreds and hundreds of years.

Your flame was irrelivant and not needed and i think that you are the asshole here, not Cracker, who probably takes care of his fish more then most people on this forum.
Just leave because you're not wanted if you're going flame people for their traditions and cultures.

Well, I guess you've sorted me out and put me in my place then. Cruelty is acceptable as long as it's been going on for a while and someone says it is.
And I just love how you justify it by explaining he's "experienced".

Thanks a lot. I guessed he's not understanding what's going on here. It's ok to make a comment but of course I hope these people will have to choose the words that they are going to use.

I'm cool here :D

You're right, I guess I don't understand why you find it acceptable on this particular forum. Since no one else seems to agree with me that it's wrong, period. I'll leave you to your thread.
Bye.

Back to the topic !

I'm ordering another 50 pcs of tanks for Bettas and I'm planning to raise more Fry next year and as usual free them in the river.

I'm giving kids in my locals with some Bettas and teach them how to take care of the fishes. They find it really nice, since this is going to be their Christmas present from me.

Happy Holidays !

You bet ! they love it ....

That's a great idea to share your fish with local kids, Cracker! I'll bet they really love it

Simple. Bulls always die in bullfights. They are weakened before the fight ever begins so it is never fair in the first place, and their lives are ended whether they win or lose.

Cocks often die in their fights (sometimes the rules even require that one die for the other to be declared winner,) and they are often altered by having their spurs cut off so they can't seriously injure one-another during sparring matches, then have sharp metal spurs strapped to their ankles before fights so they can do more damage.

Dogs sometimes die in fights, and if they don't, it's not as though the loser is rewarded by being released... oh no, they're fought again and again, often neglected and abused between fights, and are denied proper veterinary care. Dogs, even those from fighting breeds, are not natural born fighters like bettas. You don't have to condition a betta to get it to viciously attack another betta. You don't have to beat it, abuse it, and starve it to give it a bad attitude. Bettas are not pack animals that crave love and attention from pack members and don't suffer from the lack of it.

Honestly, the fact that you'd even try to compare traditional betta fighting to these other practices tells me how little you understand about it. It's ok to care about the wellbeing of the fish and I respect anyone who disapproves of it for that, but it is nothing like the cruel practices you compared it to. Fighting bettas are treated like little kings.

Ohhh these lil kids love it .....

I remember back then, I was 11 when I got my first Betta. It was given to my by my uncle and I was so happy and so excited to take care of it.

So I know exactly how these lil kids feel now :D

I love how someone can attempt to justify one form of cruelty over another because they simply happen to be in favour of it.
Explain in detail please how these bettas are treated like "little kings". I'm curious, is there some special treatment they recieve before being taken out of their jar and forced to fight for the owners amusement, then placed back in their holding jar until the next time they're forced to fight and if so, what does the betta get out of it that makes the little guys not mind that kind of life so much? After all, you and a couple of others believe there's nothing wrong with it. So, what is it that makes it o.k?
Cruelty to animals is cruelty to animals, no matter how you attempt to twist it.
