Day 38

0900hrs

PH 7.6+
High PH 8.2
Nitrite Oppm

half hour after dose

Ammonia 5ppm

(it looks like I have been dosing to 5ppm rather than 4ppm, the API kit seems a bit more sensitive than the nutrafin)

Ok, decided to do some serious investigating now

2030hrs 11.5 hours after dose, nitrite 0.50ppm
21.30hrs 12.5 hours after dose, nitrite 0.25ppm
22.30hrs 13.5 hours after dose, nitrite 0ppm

not quite but nearly

I will also lower the dose a bit as it seems I have been dosing too high

You are near the end of the fishless cycle, so 5ppm dosing is good! The most valuable thing at this point is simply the extra days to see if any more of those higher (like the 3.3ppm NO2 you got one day) blips still occur. If your zero is down to 13.5 hours now, then 12 hours is not far off so you could definately be hoping for your qualification week and seeing what your LFSs will have available during the holidays. 20/12/10

Missed a day out due to unforseen circumstances so have taken the oppotunity to adjust my dosing time to evening rather than morning in anticipation of stocking.
