Fish food problem!!

oh yeah IMO i think you should be a moderator for the livebearer section as you do know alot of things about livebearers as i have read in other topics!

Don't get algae tablets, because Cories aren't algae eating fish. Try getting bottom feeder tablets, like the kind made by TetraMin, or Shrimp Pellets. :)

And no, another one should be okay. They aren't really aggressive about getting food.

Thanks...that flatters me. :*) I guess I do know a lot, but maybe that means I should get out of the house more... :p

Haha nah you should stay here and help all the people who need help wtih their livebearers :D How long has the moderating team been there, i havnt noticed it until a couple of days ago

Don't worry, I will. I love helping people. :)

The moderating team has been there for..well, forever! Since this forum started. Though they add on new moderators every once in a while.

Edit: Anyway, I take it the Tetras and Cories are doing well? What are your current water stats?

Oh lol i guessi have jsut never realized that there was a moderating staff until i saw one of the lgos that said TTF moderating staff on someones post :dunno: :S . Yes my cories and tetras are doing wonderful! sometime this weekend i am going to my LFS and probally going to get another cory and 1 or 2 more tetras. my water stats are nitrates:20 nitrites:0 (very happy aobut that :D ) Hardness:50 Alkanity:120 and Ph:7.2

What about ammonia?

Though I'm glad to hear they are all doing well! :D

And yes, most people don't notice the moderators...but they are really what keep this forum running, and peaceful for everyone. And in my opinion, They don't get nearly enough praise for it, unfortunatly. :/

Oh umm i thought that nitrites were ammonia.... it says on the test tube under the nitrite section it says to remove ammonia use marplex? uh oh did i get the wrong test strips?

The only surefire way to remove Ammonia is not overstocking and doing water changes. There are a few chemicals that claim to remove ammonia, or "lock" it, but I've never tried them, so I couldn't tell you about them.

Ammonia and NitrIte are definitely different though...try reading Wolf's post on what's in your water...here's a link. :)

ok while im reading that im j/wing is there a reason that you are an anonomous member becuase i keep looking for your name on the memeber lsit and oyur an anonomous memeber

Well...to cut a long story short, I signed in one day as an anonymous member, just to see what it was, and haven't signed back out and in since. :p I will though, if it bugs you.

By the way, you didn't get the wrong test, NitrIte is very important too.

hmm im wondering why my test strips come with stuff liek hardness and stuff but it doesnt even read what the ammonia is.... very strange. Unless they figured that if your nitrites are high then your ammonia must be high to and you should treat it the same way as you would nitrites :dunno:

NitrItes and ammonia are very different things, though they are both bad for your fish and can be brought down by water changes...but they should have an ammonia test in there. Oh well. :dunno:

Sorry, I missed your Platy question earlier. No, I don't have just two, my profile is really old and I keep forgetting to update it. *slaps self* :*)

By the way, I am no longer Anonymous, if that makes you any happier. :p

Haha  thank you very much i was very concerned that you were anonomous! geez. Anywho yea i was abotu to say i could have sworn that at sometime she had said that she had more platies than that! Well im actully getting really excited abotu getting some new fish( i tihnk everyone gets excited whe nthey get ot buy new fish! The only problem is that i dotn want to introduce new fish so soon.... but i ttihk nthat by this weekend things should be easier and the fish shouldnt be as nervous. Wow i made a huge mistake the other day! i turned my heater up to high and the water tempuratures read at abotu 88 Degrees Fareinheit i only realized because i had to put my hand inot the water to get a peice of palstic or soemthing out and i was liek wow this is hot. but lucklit things are back to normal and im surprised that the fish didnt get fried!

EDIT: wow im the worst speller and typer in the world!!!!!

EDIT again: I also see that oyu have changed up your profile
