Yup i will probally olny get 2 more tetras and 1 mroe cory as you recommended... i will show you a picture of my tank soon when ever i get the plants this weekend!
I cant take this!! inow the same problem is happening with my glowlite tetras! tall they do is spit the food out and let it fall to the bottem!!! Why is this happening i have also fed them bloodworms and they will not eat that either(they try and spit it out) please help again!!
You need to give them tiny tiny pieces. You can't just stick whole Bloodworms or flakes in. That might be why they spit it out...because fish can't chew, so spitting it out and eating it again makes it smaller.
haha yea i no but i hate worrying. Last night i was looking at my fish and 2 of the 3 glowlite tetras wernt glowing at all! they were brown looking and they were staying at the bottem of the tank. i figured well.... mabye i should jsut give them a chance and today they are back to normal. but what do you think this problem is?
If you need new tests, don't get test strips. They are often inaccurate. You are better to go with Liquid tests....I've found Aquarium Pharmaceuticals to be a good brand. I also need to know ammonia, if possible. That's what I was really looking for.
Do they have any improvement today? Same, worse, better?
they are bette today but the only problem is that they are very skiddish and stay low if not on the gravel.....the only probelm with the liquid tests is arnt they really expensive?
Being skittish is normal. They've only been in there a few days, and they are still getting used to the new enviroment. Make sure there are hiding places and plants for them. Unless they are flicking?
And yes, Liquid is more expensive initially, but not in the long run. It's better to be accurate though, then have your fish die, or be in trouble because you don't know the correct readings...
yea the fish are flicking. i no that has to be really bad! oh yea my friends that i gave the platy to has decided to give up on fish so i had to take him back. he seems to be doing fien so far. i am planning to go to the store today. The problem with buying so many plants is that they add up and become very expensive. from 2$-6$ a plant time probally 7 or 8 can be between 16$ and 42$
Okay, post in Emergencies. Flicking is bad, it can be a sign of bad water quality or White Spot. I'm sure someone in Emergencies will have a better idea of what's going on. Include your latest water params.
So you have the Platy back...that might make your tank a little overstocked, so keep up on the water changes.
