Quite the opposite Mads. Although she did have a good flare at him, she did end up quite bruised. No ripped fins at all but lots of little red marks all down her body. She's doing fine though and is eating well bless her.

You can see here all the red marks on her.

Is it normal for one to get belted up? How long till the eggs hatch?

The male can inflicted a lot of damage, thats why its so annoying when people think its just a case of sticking their bettas together without proper conditioning. We have lost females after breeding due to the excessive stress put on them, thats why it is so important to ensure they are in the best possible condition.

Reference the eggs hatching.......they have already. See previous page :good:

LOL....I had to read that twice the LionMom. I thought you fed fry to your angel fish

Around 3 times a day with Vinegar eel for the 1st 3/4 days and then baby brineshrimp :good:

The pair is stunning - I bet those little BBS-suckers turn out beautiful!
Are those sort of red marks normal on a pale bodied female? I have never seen a clear photo of a pale female right after spawning. I have a similarly coloured girl that I'm planning on breeding - should I NOT freak if she looks like that?
